When I listened to this song for the first time, I got teary. I could relate to every single lyric.

Somehow, this song brought me out of something I had been fighting for a long time. It reminded me that how God sees me matters and that should reflect in how I see myself too.

As I listened, different images kept playing in my head. So I reached out to my guys, shared the vision, and we pulled this together.

Thank you @thesammieolajide for pushing me to actually do this. And thank you @greatmantakit for creating such a beautiful song ❤️🥺

This was so unplanned 😂 Begged @thesammieolajide to give us some shots and, as usual, my guy came through 🤝🏽

In life, you’ll meet people along the way, and I’m so glad I found these girls, @the_realtosh and @tophunmee when I did. So grateful for them, and I looove them sooo much 🥹❤️

Planning an intimate event such as Retroflux 2.0 required a lot more than words. There was the physical activity involved with me filling in all the roles.

Was it absolutely worth it? Yes.
Will I want to repeat it again so soon? Not sure 😭

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME
TODAY I CELEBRATE MYSELF —
NOT BECAUSE I HAVE IT ALL FIGURED OUT,
BUT BECAUSE I’M STILL HERE, STILL GROWING, STILL LOVED.

I CELEBRATE THE SMALL WINS, THE LESSONS IN THE HARD DAYS,
AND THE QUIET MOMENTS WHERE I FELT GOD’S HAND HOLDING ME STEADY.

THANK YOU, FATHER, FOR ANOTHER YEAR OF BREATH,
FOR GRACE THAT COVERED MY MISTAKES,
FOR STRENGTH I DIDN’T KNOW I HAD,
AND FOR HOPE THAT KEEPS ME MOVING FORWARD.

I DON’T KNOW WHAT THIS NEXT YEAR HOLDS,
BUT I KNOW WHO HOLDS ME.
SO TODAY I CHOOSE JOY, GRATITUDE, AND PEACE.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME.
OMOWAMIDE MODUPE
MAY I KEEP BECOMING WHO I WAS MADE TO BE. AMEN
