#TeenArtExchange: The exhibition “Rooted Here: Woven From the Land” celebrates the work of four prominent local Salish weavers who have been instrumental in the revival and perpetuation of weaving in their communities. A large part of that revival and renewal has involved teaching others.

🗣️ Art Exchange student Victoria, 15, was inspired by this theme of apprenticeship and the idea of passing down an art form through relations and generations. Listen to her explain how she used unconventional materials to create a beautiful necklace under the guidance of her father, who is a goldsmith.

Did you know that children and youth 18 and under can visit the Gallery for FREE any time? Plan your next visit at the link in our bio.
