I am willing to take the risk in believing it is more valuable to show up imperfectly than not at all.

Recently I have been very inspired by @oatmilklady 's artwork and felt so compelled to sketch with some written word I had in my notes! With a reference from an image I found on Pinterest. Maybe this is too niche but I have a board where I specifically save nice quotes to remind me of affirmations when I'm feeling down. Would recommend!

To be more personal for a second, Christmas Eve marks my 2nd year anniversary of journaling. To say writing has changed my life is an understatement. It's given me a way to express myself in way I never felt I fully could, even with painting or illustration as outlets. Most importantly it has given me a way to make sense of all the dialogue and inputs that battle in my head and of the world forever happening around us. With words I could finally carve out the space where I can splay out my thoughts so that, with each entry in chronological order, everything feels like it is slightly more put into perspective. And each little bit of perspective makes a difference.

Is it not fun to feel many other ways . . .

. . . "Since the interstice where emptiness once dully resided had finally hollowed itself from its sick comfort, the artery has been consumed by fervent and unbridled, violent and crashing waves of anger. You see, on strange impulse I feel nothing but a sense of harrowing resentment, and most overwhelmingly a guilt that chews on my bones like mold seeping unto rotten leftovers. It is not fun, this guilt that remains long after I leave streaks of tar that stain the ground, and remains even once I have polluted the air with cracked pitch, my voice having left me. Is it wrong that I love you enough to not want to help you anymore, and that I want you to be able to stand on your own? Your doubt eats me alive and I cannot help you. I don’t want to be one. I know we’ll never quite understand, I’m trying to accept that now. Maybe you can tell me when I am in my sleep."

A piece of writing to go along with this piece :) I absolutely love Amber Waves, sooo inspiring

Thank you to everyone who stopped by to the 'Queendom' pop-up gallery!

I had such an amazing experience with the other artists @kimbrake333 @bloominginthegloom @geni6ix - to whom I feel immensely grateful to have shared this amazing space 🤍🤍

Part of the flash sheets that I drew and completed for my capstone project 💀 Finally being done feels like such a reward, but there's more to come!

Also - I'm genuinely in love with the sheer amount of references in EiA as an art history nerd... Poussin... The Devil Wears Prada... Gethsemane... the lyrical callbacks to their previous albums... PINCH ME
