CultureCon recap ✨🤎 I had such an amazing time at CultureCon with @aprilwithan_e_ ! I really enjoyed networking and meeting new people to checking out all the different vendors, activations, and creative spaces, it was definitely an experience. I met so many cool creatives, including some really dope and talented women photographers 📸. I also got the chance to do what I love and capture some photos of people I met throughout CultureCon. One of my favorite parts was just being surrounded by my people in the creative space. Being in a room full of creatives, seeing everybody’s work, connecting, and just enjoying the energy was everything. 🫶🏾 And of course, we have to get into my Day 1 look! 😍 My top was custom made by @kingbellaa and she brought the vision together PERFECTLY. I loved how everything came together for my first CultureCon outfit! Definitely a weekend for the books. #culturecon #newyork #recap #contentcreator #photographer

🏆🎬✨: Two Emmys and counting! Huge congratulations to director and filmmaker Kyra Knox (@kyraknox_) on winning her second Emmy Award! We’re so proud to celebrate this incredible milestone and the work she continues to create. Kyra shared the lessons, challenges, and insights she’s learned along the way, as well as advice for creatives looking to build their own careers in the industry. This is one you’ll definitely want to replay. 🤏🏾✨ Watch Kyra’s full Q&A in the 2024 BWP Summit playlist on YouTube, and while you’re there, explore more inspiring and educational conversations from the BWP Summit. ✨Photographs 1 and 5 by @torian.studios. ✨ Photographs 2-4 by @jraginphotography_. This summer I was honored to have my piece “A Moment Of Ours” showcased in Philadelphia City Hall for the “Out of Many, One” exhibition. When I saw the open call for photography that represented different neighborhoods in Philadelphia, this photograph immediately came to mind. A Moment Of Ours, is a snapshot from the @blackurbangrowers gathering in 2024, hosted by @oneartcommunitycenter . This is one of the first moments in my career where I was in awe and felt truly blessed to capture beautiful moments like this, as a profession. It truly felt like a safe space. It reminded me of one of my favorite inspirations, The Sugar Shack by Ernie Barnes. The crowd was sea of Black Urban Growers and Farmers, with different dialects from all over the country, who were able to celebrate and break bread in a space that truly reflected and valued them. Thank you @creativephl for having me apart of this beautiful showcase, amongst several artists who inspire me.

The work continues! Today I introduced three resolutions in @phlcouncil that: - Recognize September as Hunger Action Month, s/o to @philabundance for keeping the mission to end hunger front and center!🫜🍞🍖 - Call for Philadelphians to join the Starbucks Boycott with @sbworkersunited + @sbwuphilly … No contract, no coffee! ☕️🚫 - Authorize a hearing reviewing the abrupt shift to a new healthcare provider for Philly’s jails and the impact of contracting out care 🔍 Stay tuned, we’re still just getting started! ✊🏾
