The best weekend with the best women 🤍🍷 Late nights, endless laughter, wine bus karaoke, surprise guest entertainment, horseback riding, and the BEST Matron of Honor & herd wrangler a girl could ask for. My heart is so full, and my cheeks still hurt from laughing. Times like these are few and far between, which makes getting to share a weekend like this with all of you that much more special. We are so grateful for the opportunity to have shared the stage with @collectivescdance and @holycitydance as part of Collective SC’s Season 4 Opener. ✨ This is just the beginning!

Introducing our Directors🪩

Julia (Jules) Kabernagel is a dedicated dance artist and choreographer from Bel Air, Maryland, where she trained in a variety of dance genres and performed in numerous pre-professional productions with Harford Dance Theater. She also competed with Harford Dance Center and the Fallston High School Dance Team.

Julia graduated from the College of Charleston in 2021 with a B.A. in Dance and Arts Management, with a concentration in Music Industry. During her time at the College of Charleston, she gained hands-on experience in arts administration, choreography, and performance. Julia was a 2018 recipient of the prestigious Clarence Award from the Department of Theatre and Dance, recognizing outstanding talent, dedication, and artistic excellence.

While at the College of Charleston, Julia performed works by guest artists including Harambee Dance Company, Michael Nickerson-Rossi, and Vincent Thomas. She choreographed original works for department productions, including student showcases, faculty concerts, Urinetown: The Musical, and Living Dead in Denmark, and presented her choreography at the American College Dance Association (ACDA) Southeastern Annual Conference. She also performed abroad with Staibdance in Sorrento, Italy, participating in international training and collaborative creation.

Since graduating, Julia has performed throughout Charleston with Charleston Dance Project, Dynamics Hip Hop Company, and Blue Steele Productions, as well as at the North Charleston Arts Festival and Piccolo Spoleto Festival. She is currently in her second season as a company member with Collective SC Dance Company, directed by Lacey Bates & Izzy Byers. Julia is excited to launch KAB&CO alongside her sister, Tori, and create a platform for dance, creativity, and community.🪩

Introducing our Directors✨

Victoria (Tori) Kabernagel O’Malley is a choreographer, instructor, and dance artist based in Charleston, SC. Raised in Bel Air, Maryland, Tori began training at age three at Harford Dance Center. During her time in Maryland, she performed with pre-professional company Harford Dance Theatre and competed with Harford Dance Center and the Fallston High School Dance Team.

Tori graduated from the College of Charleston in 2018, earning a BA in Dance and Arts Management, a BS in Hospitality and Tourism Management and Business Administration. During her time at CofC, Tori’s dance training spanned from commercial to concert styles. Tori competed with the CofC Cougarettes Dance Team at UDA College Nationals, she performed in several department productions, including works by guest artists Tara Madsen Robbins and John J. Zullo, she served as a Rehearsal Director for faculty and guest works, including choreography by Michael Nickerson-Rossi of Nickerson-Rossi Dance, and she presented numerous choreographic works at the Piccolo Spoleto Festival, Charleston Fuse Festival, American College Dance Association (ACDA) Southeastern Conferences, and in various CofC Department of Theatre and Dance concerts.

Since graduating, Tori has taught and choreographed for performance groups in California and South Carolina. While teaching and choreographing in Southern California, she presented group and solo competitive work with Dance Dimensions, Home of Hartin Dance Company.

Upon her return to Charleston, Tori taught at The Dance Space and served as Co-Director for the Charleston Dance Project. Her work has been featured at the Gatsby Gala with Blue Steele Productions, North Charleston Arts Festival, Piccolo Spoleto Festival, Holy City Dance Festival, Craft Charleston, and numerous Dance Space productions.

Tori is excited to be launching a lifelong dream and creative endeavor alongside her sister, Julia. After sharing the studio and stage together for nearly twenty years, they have joined forces to establish their own platform, KAB&CO.
