DJ Pops (me) is back in the captain’s chair at WOWD 94.3 this Saturday (Oct 3) at 9:00 am! I will be spinning treasures from my record collection, and spinning yarns about the artists themselves.
This week’s show includes Marginal Man - @deerhuntermusic - the Corn Dollies - @reddkross - Edsel - @officialpalesaints - @of_montreal - @toroallcaps and more! As always, you can listen live, or stream on @takomaradio by searching for the show Lost Treasures (the show I tag team with my pal @tendollarcurry / aka DJ Mackie). Oh - If you didn’t catch DJ Mackie’s tribute to / interview with Parthenon Huxley last week - do so while it is still streaming! See ya Saturday! And see you at @transmissiondc Saturday night for TORO!

Scattered Records is a label based in the Washington DC area. Owner Mike Ritter started the label to release "Pleasure Party" by indie pop/surf-punk @silentislandband . Since then @scatteredrecords.ig has released several recordings from indie rock and punk rock bands in the DC area including @tiredallthetimeband (side project of Teen Mortgage ) and TORO @toroallcaps (shoegaze.) Scattered Records also distributes many labels including @dischordrecords(Fugazi, Minor Threat, Rites Of Spring, etc), @alacarterecords (post-punk, synth-pop, goth, shoegaze, electronica, post-hardcore) Live & Learn Records (early-mid 1980s roots reggae) and @purplecirclerecords (operated by Ned Russin, Glitterer/Title Fight back catalog releases)
Along with Scattered Records' releases and distributed records, Scattered will also be selling an assortment of used classic rock, punk, new wave, alternative, soul, jazz and reggae records at the upcoming event.

My vacation is over and I (DJ Pops) am excited to be back on WOWD 94.3 this Saturday morning at 9:00. As always, I will be spinning gems from my record collection, along with the occasional anecdote about the artists themselves. This week’s show includes @bettieserveert.official - @jakeburnsnufc (SLF) - @mbvofficial - @supergrasshq - new music from @toroallcaps - a short block from @swervedriverofficial - and more!

You can listen live - or stream at @takomaradio by searching for the show Lost Treasures (which my pal @tendollarcurry and I take turns hosting every Saturday at 9:00 am). See you Saturday on the #1 rated radio station in the DMV!

Another quick crash course into just a few of the incredible music artists we have here in the dc / dmv area.

Know of a local artist that's not on the playlist? Comment a song that should be added!

oh yeah ps if you haven't heard the rumblings over on partiful... something is being announced in late august and now officially all the artists involved have been added to these guides :)
