POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

A MedTech bootcamp combining hands-on minimally invasive surgery, engineering and design thinking, and entrepreneurship. Medical students, engineers, scientists and people from business and venture capital, working as one team on a real unmet clinical need — from early morning to close to midnight, for a week.

The brief: define the problem, propose the technology, build the business case, defend it.

The video also holds the part that isn’t on the timetable — the discussions that continued after the sessions ended, and the evenings at the night market.

Reflecting on the energy from last year’s B.E.S.T. Course as we gear up for an even bigger milestone. These highlights from our previous cohort set the stage for what’s coming next: the 10th Anniversary B.E.S.T. Innovation Workshop this July.

Join us at IRCAD Taiwan from July 20 to 24 for an intensive dive into surgical AI, robotics, and medtech entrepreneurship. We’re kicking things off with a Reunion Dinner on July 19—a prime opportunity to connect with global industry pioneers.

Registration is strictly first-come, first-served. Secure your spot by the end of June to be part of this landmark anniversary session.

Strasbourg.

September.

Summer is over.

And what a blast we had last week with the B.E.S.T. Innovation Course at the IHU Strasbourg !
Truly a blessing to welcome so many enthusiastic Participants and Experts and to finish the season with another bang !
If I could resume this intense week with some key words/ sentences it’ll go like this : a very heavy fish, a viking telling a story, 30 people and a little cup of water, Titanic or Little miss sunshine or « who’s driving the bus ?! », a smelly piece of meat on Thursday, workshops with a speech told 15th times, spaghetti challenge, Alsace is sexy, a very tonic morning, « where are the pizzas ?! », litteraly sitting in the trash bin aaaaaaaaaaand more !
And finally, that’s a wrap for the 2025 Edition of this intense BEST Week with us !
To our Experts, and Coachs, and Trainers, thank you again for your attendance this year, for your precious help, for your sharp minds, for spreading all the good vibes and for always being incredible and ready for it all years after years !
To the B.E.S.T. promo 2025 : THANK-YOU ! You put up with our crazy proposition everyday and it’s a challenge in itself ! I remember your moves from the cellar of the Brasserie Meteor on Monday night to that tonic morning wake up on Wednesday, we had a pretty flexible team this year ! Not to forget your artistic aptitudes and all the animal spirit we discover that week (hi yellow dolphin !) with the creative work of Mrs. Laure KRUG @laurekrug .
It was a pleasure for us to have you all at the IHU Strasbourg and we hope you enjoyed it just as much as we did !
To those that left, we hope that our paths we’ll cross again soon in the future !
To those who stayed, I hope you’re well aware that your support never goes unnoticed !

And finally, 3 honorable mentions this year :

- To cara Maria @meri_quitecontrary thank you ❤️ and come back, your time in Strasbourg is always too short !
- To Marie, thank you for your help in every aspect, and for being as crazy and over the top as I am.
- To the IHU crew : thank you, you guys are great, I'll tell you as much as needed.

Onto the next chapter!

Justine (& the Education Department), OUT 🎤!

Reflecting on the 2025 B.E.S.T. Course (July 28 – August 1)

Our recent B.E.S.T. course brought together 48 early-career professionals for a transformative 5-day journey focused on tackling one of the most pressing global health challenges: obstructed labor, a condition that causes up to 10,000 maternal deaths each year.

Through an intensive curriculum blending hands-on surgical training, engineering innovation, and entrepreneurship workshops, participants collaborated with our esteemed international faculty—including Prof. Silvana Perretta and Prof. Dennis McWilliams—to develop technologies that aim to improve outcomes for laboring women worldwide.

As Dr. Wayne so beautifully expressed, we inspired our participants to navigate both technical challenges and emotional growth, working as teams to design impactful solutions that address real clinical needs.

Thank you to everyone who contributed to the success of this course—you are the heart of IRCAD-Taiwan.

This June was our 3rd Annual Bro/Sis Tarpon Hunt with @grassrootsguiding, and it did not disappoint! We even started the first day with a double rainbow (after a hefty storm gave us a late start..) 🤪
