@duffybooks 📚 South Island NZ — Westport/Karamea + Nelson 📍
Role Model Schools Tour, September 2026 done ✅

Such a special few days sowing positive seeds into young minds across Aotearoa- encouraging our tamariki to read, dream loudly, imagine freely & believe there’s a whole world of possibility waiting for them. I can only ever look back on this trip with a heart full of gratitude ✨ Much love to all the schools & communities we got to visit, cheehee 🥰 What a trip, what an experience of a lifetime!

And getting to do it alongside my cuz @torxsse made it even better- you know how proud I am of you 🫶🏽 & super grateful to our sis @trinaisaa & the whole Duffy Books in Homes team for having us, Fa’afetai tele lava, THANK YOU for allowing us the opportunity to support such an awesome kaupapa 📚

Also…how have I travelled to the other side of the world but not properly explored my own backyard?! 😭 Rural Aotearoa, YOU’RE A STUNNER! 😮‍💨🏔️🌿🌊

Grand rolling mountains dressed in the thickest most lush greenery & mist, (straight Jurassic Park vibes fr lol) waterfalls scattered along the way, the heaving Buller River, the small towns we traveled through to the sound & views of the mighty West Coast 🌊 I’ve never said “wow” so many times in my life lol ‘WOW’ so’o 🤣 Top 3 most epic drives I’ve ever done- easy!

Thank you Jesus for your guidance, travelling mercies & provision over our trip too, nothing is more important than the mission you’ve set out for us & we cant thank you enough, it will always START & END with YOU ☝🏽

If you needed a sign to go check our country out- here it is, go see it. DO IT yesterday! 😂

Are you an indigenous creator ready to share your work with the world?

This is what it looks like when culture becomes something you can hold in your hands.

Samoan producer, film-maker, and community activist Torisse Laulu, created Lalaga from a lifelong belief that sharing stories has the power to weave people together. Two years of consultation, research, and deep cultural care went into every card, and today it lives in the Oyster & Moon store alongside a community of creators who make with the same intention.

If you are from Aotearoa or the Pacific Islands and create physical products with culutral heart, we would love to connect. Email us at kiaora@oyster-moon.com to learn more about joining our creator whānau.

Tonight, we brought the table to Otara. Students, teachers, parents, and mentors showed up to Sir Edmund Hillary’s home to share their Lalaga stories and experiences with funders and leaders.

Feeling incredibly grateful to be held by our village and also to our funders/leaders for listening + supporting.

After two years of running the Lalaga schools program in Sir Edmund Hillary Collegiate and Tangaroa College, we’re really excited to step into our third year. Excited to step into this year w a larger village ❤️‍🔥

On March 26th we ran our first workshop of the year, combining GMB 101 and GMB 202 with the amazing girls at Manurewa Intermediate! 🌟

After introducing them to entrepreneurship and growth mindset, we covered the basics of finance and marketing. The girls then came up with business ideas to solve a big problem, and pitched to compete for prizes. Everyone had such creative ideas and passion for their business plans!

They came up with some really creative ideas from slime businesses to help mental health, to stylish wigs for people living with cancer.

Big congrats to our winning team, who pitched the World Trust App, where people can donate money via an app and have it distributed to impactful projects around the world! 🌍🏆

And a big thanks to our GMB team, Sophie, Pooja, Grace, Sydney, Chris, Charissa, Jo and our special guest judge @torxsse @lalaga.game for all their hard work making the session amazing!
