Fa’amanuiaga Sa Lilo - Viia Le Atua.

Blessed to be given the name - Faumuina today. & alongside my aiga @barneytanner @_haddon.house_ . A name that belongs to the Savaiinaea family from Sala’ilua - passed down through my late Grandfather - Savaiinaea Vaai.

Although he’s not physically here, I felt him in so many moments today, seeing the land he grew up in, meeting his family and trace-mapping the deep roots of our Savaiinaea gafa.

We have always carried his legacy in our blood and aiga. But from this day on, we’ll carry it in our names. taken in Savaii, Samoa by @torxsse

Man 😭 g2G! An absolute honour to share space with two Kiwi legends - Savae Sir Michael Jones and Maiavatele Keven Mealamu - who have truly dented the rugby scene + now continue to make waves in the commerce and community spaces they serve.

Felt like the meanest fraud sitting next to these two heavy hitters but also, felt incred grateful to hear from them + learn from their stories.

Full circle moment. From skipping class and missing exams at uni 🤣🤦🏾‍♀️to going back years later to share my story with @lalaga.game + talk about resilience.

It was buzzy reflecting on the journey of trying to get Lalaga off the ground - how I spent a year pitching it to a mili diff people before I finally found someone who believed in it (s/o to Sylvia Moe) ❤️‍🔥 In hindsight, I see now that those setbacks didn’t just make me more creative; they forced me to implement better systems and seek better mentorship and collaboration. Without the failure, I never would have found the need to build those foundations.

I never dreamt that one day I’d be using that story to encourage others to see their losses as lessons and their setbacks as launching pads. Thank you @unibounduoa for allowing me to do that today!

When @matildapoasa asked if @lalaga.game could open @maorilandfilm with the first industry workshop i didnt know if I could 😅 I was so nervous & imposter syndrome was hittin hard 🤣 Cos how do I play Lalaga w filmmakers from all over the world? 🤣🤣But her and the team from Maoriland were the most supportive group ever. The way they awhi and held us was unmatched!

They made me believe that i could exist in those spaces and share this galuega w them. still buzzying over this moment and am so grateful to their team!
