As we embark on a new year and a new presidential administration, our commitment to building a more just and equitable society, especially for the benefit of Black lives, is unwavering. The inauguration of the new President, Vice President, and Senators from Georgia can be celebrated but ONLY if it accompanies a renewed fervor to continuing the movement and accomplishing ALL of its original goals: a complete re-imagining of policing, ending mass incarceration, abolishing the death penalty, reducing black maternal morbidity, education and health care for all and the list goes on. 📝 Black people, especially Black WOMXN, and Black organizers have demonstrated their political power in this country and it is long overdue for our demands to be answered in full! Our voices are powerful and deserve to be heard! 🗣 The future is bright but only if we’re not afraid to shine. ✨ 📸: @deb_fong_photography #blacklivesmatter #itsastrategy #inaguration #2021 #vison #future #organizing #youthvoice #youthpower

No matter your specific perspective on this movement, or how you can or prefer to be part of it, there are organizations and actions for you. @Black_Surfing_Rockaway’s events are among my favorite, for reasons I’ve said many times before. In a nutshell, this is a community that is peaceful, welcoming, and joyful - while being mindful of the work that needs to be done. The gorgeous backdrop of Rockaway Beach helps keep us all centered! 🌊 And now, portraits of some of my favorite (new) people. Happy Friday, all! 💙💙

Today At 21 Years Old I Made History, In My Hometown Southside Jamaica Queens, & Just QUEENS PERIOD! I’m Blessed To Receive 2 Awards, A Plaque Aswell As Being Honored For The 2nd Annual Nipsey Hussle Awards By @sassie_sa_ent , My NYS Assemblywoman @aliciahyndman && My Congressman @repgregorymeeks This Is By Far The 1st Time Someone Has Really Took The Time Out To Recognize The YOUTH! So @sassie_sa_ent I Really Wanna Thank You From The Sincerity Of My Voice && From The Bottom Of My Heart ❣️. It’s Been YEARS! & With That Being Said I Need Each & Everyone Of Y’all To Center Youth Liberation. To My Youth We Are No Longer Waiting For Us To Get Called On. We Are Showing Up, We Are Showing Out, && We Are Breaking & Shaking Down The Doors Of White Supremacy & Systematic Racism. Youth All Across This Nation Including Myself Has Been Consistently Marginalized, We Have Been Continuously Put Down!!!!!!!! But Where Can We Go? A lot Of People Love To Capitalize Off Of Our Trauma & Love To Advocate For Us, But When It Comes To Putting In The Work, They Don’t Want To Do It! So Let Me Remind Each & Everyone Of You Myself & Other Youth’s Are Dying In A State Of An Emergency 🚨! Black Youth Are Dying All Across This Nation & Yet We Have Not Been Fully Embraced, I Need You All To Keep Youth In Your Hearts 🖤🙌🏽. Why? (Because) We Have To Fight To Be Seen, We Have To Fight To Hold Space, We Have To Fight To To Be Respected, We Have To Fight To Be Celebrated && That Has To STOP! . . When I Hear 5 Of My Foster Brother’s & Sister’s Killed In Less Than A Week, Committing Suicide Due To Child Neglect-ion, Homophobia, Transphobia, Human Sex-Trafficking, Depression, && Lastly PTSD. Now Lemme Ask Y’all Why Are We Not Out Here In These Street’s Fucking Up Some God Damn Comma’s Around New York City & Holding A lot Of These People Who Are Put Into Position’s Of Power In These Inadequate Government Institutions Accountable 💯❗️. I Am Tired Of My Youth Not Being Able Or Eligible To Be Seen, Because Of Your Ego & Your Tolerance. Fuck Your Ego, & Fuck Your Tolerance. Youth All Around This World Have Been Here Since The Beginning Of Time, So Get To It💯, Tell Ya Friend’s To Pull-Up Gangsta 💪🏾!
