What are your latest second-hand book finds? 🔍

My Wife @touching_myshelf and I went over the hill to Featherston to visit For the Love of Books, one of our favorite bookshops, and I came away with such a fun haul!

The first 3 books of the Legend of Drizzt, which I have been so excited to find an older copy of. Ive been so keen to get into the Forgotten Realms due to being such a big fan of Baldurs Gate!

I also found a few of the earlier Discworld books which I have been planning to start for a long time, and I've found it super hard to get my hands on the first one.

We also found a cool copy of 11/22/63, which we have both been hunting for for ages. I haven't read a lot of Stephen King so I am very excited for this one!

What book series got you back into reading? 🗡

After leaving high school I stopped reading for fun, and university didnt help as reading became more of a chore for studying than for any entertainment.

My Wife is an avid reader (btw follow her here @touching_myshelf ) so in 2023 I finally caved and decided it was time to pick up the books again.

I started with Red Rising AND WOW! if you need a series to get you back into the swing of reading, Red Rising is the go to. Its still my favorite series today, and its really set a very high standard for me going forward 😆

Look give me some politics, space, neat swords, and you've usually got me on board!

Sunday Shelfie & Shout Out 💕

I was inspired by @books_bymybed after seeing her #daydotbooksta challenge to go back through my old posts and see who has been around from the start. It’s amazing to think I’ve been on Booksta for almost 9 years and some of you have been here the whole time! Please go and check out the tagged accounts if you don’t already follow them 🥰

My shelves have changed a lot over this time - cue the piles in the hallway that don’t even have a shelf 😅 but I’ve never stopped loving books, reading, and talking about all thinks bookish with all of you! Whether you’ve been here from the start or you’re a new friend, thank you for reading my reviews and being here 💕

Photo 1 is my poor hallway (rip to my little toes) and photos 2&3 are just some snippets of my library (which needs some serious TLC but I get overwhelmed 😅) - there are more books throughout my house too - I’m never going to run out of reading material that’s for sure hahaha.

#whatthisweek 🖤 Thanks for the tag @josbereads 🤝🏻

📚 Currently I am reading Gallagher by PJ Harrison. I read one review of the book, which said the book focuses too much on the negative side of the band and after 80 pages I kinda have to agree…

📺 Honestly, I don’t really watch too much reality TV but my current OBSESSION is the Secret Lives of Mormon Wives 😭😂

🎧 I have been listening to a lot of different bands lately, such as Gojira and Ice Nine Kills 🤘🏻 My Oasis obsession is slowly loosening its grip…😂

Strawberry & cherry tag 🍒🌸🍓🎀🌹🩰

I may have had to dismantle my bookshelves for this photo…. but it was so worth it!! 🍓✨

Thank you sweet bestie @nataliasreads for the tag 💓

🧁 Crumb cake: a book you loved everything about
Fourth Wing - from the very first page I couldn’t stop thinking about it!! The trials, war college setting, dragons and the slow burn, angsty romance completely swept me away 🙂‍↕️🐉

🥤 Smoothie: a sweet and cosy romance
Heartstopper - there’s truly no couple sweeter than Nick and Charlie! Their soft, gentle love makes my heart feel warm and safe 🫶🏼🥹

🍨 Frozen yoghurt: a book bf you didn’t expect to love as much as you did
Any of the zodiac academy men! Who would have thought I’d go from yelling at them in book one to being hopelessly in love by the end ❤️‍🔥

🧈 Cream puffs: a book you’ll always recommend
Archers Voice - it’s the kind of romance that just quietly tucks itself into your heart! Beautiful, soft and unforgettable 💖

🥞 Fluffy pancakes: a character you’d pick to join your team on a baking competition
Geraldine from Zodiac Academy! She’d bake up a storm and have us all in tears laughing with her chaotic commentary (fish metaphors included, obviously 🐟👩‍🍳)

🍰 Shortcake: a character you’d like to spend the day with
Magnolia Parks - I just know it’d be a dreamy day full of luxury, pampering and incredible food 🧖‍♀️💅

Q: what’s a book you’ll always recommend? 💌 Pink and red romance books stacked together spine facing up on a grey background

We've been loving Laura Steven's Our Infinite Fates in the office, but we're not the only ones!

💗 @kelsgrxce "⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I have never cried reading a book. UNTIL NOW. This book is both heart wrenching and so very enchanting, I couldn’t put it down!"

💗 @touching_myshelf "I loved this book 🥹 I think they were totally right to relate this The Invisible Life of Addie La Rue because it definitely has the same warm but bittersweet and yearning romance feeling."

💗 @chellesofbooks "It's a beautifully told tale and I struggle to express just how much I loved this book because it's so unique, and unlike anything I've ever read. "

💗 @nzbookfae "Read if you enjoyed: Divine Rivals & The Invisible Life of Addie La Rue."

Cute Pet & Currently Reading 🐈

Starting 2025 off with a bang! I’m currently reading two romances a Christmas one (I’m unable to accept Xmas is over) and a romantic suspense with a motorcycle gang and dark mmc (yes my two personalities really show here) 🎄🖤

Wolf.E - Paisley Hope (the romantic suspense)

Noel begged to be included in the first booksta post for 2025. So here’s a fun little challenge to start the year off: #cutepetandcurrentlyreading

I’ve tagged a few lovely bookstagrammers who I believe have cute pets, but if you see this and want to join in please do! 🐈💕
