As September rolls into October in the Hudson Valley and fashion week wraps up in NYC, it means the Hudson Valley Sustainable Fashion show is once again ready to kick off and it did not disappoint. . The fourth Hudson Valley Sustainable Fashion Week will also be the first-ever HVSFWeek[end]! Friday the 25th will be Organic Runway IV, featuring local fashion designers creating exquisite collections using repurposed textiles. Designers include @clarebarexo, @apres.lamour, @shopennui, @lastnight_onearth, @kacy_coyle, @sovicki.fashion, @greenmegs.and.ham, and @touchthreads. Then, on Saturday, it’s the inaugural Slow Fashion Fair, featuring vendors and workshops and kid activities and music and sheep and so much more. It’s all happening at @stoneridgeorchard in Stone Ridge. We are honored to welcome the Mid Hudson Valley Threshold Choir back as a collaborating artist for the Greater Mysteries Fall Cycle. @Thresholdchoir is part of an international movement of singers who bring song to thresholds, offering gentle, a cappella music at bedsides and in moments of transition. Their practice is deeply aligned with the terrain of Greater Mysteries and the mystery of what lies between endings and beginnings. This fall, there will be two opportunities to experience their voices: On September 20, Threshold Choir will lead Threshold by Candlelight at @tempokingston An intimate evening of song by candlelight, inspired by the ancient practice of Compline. Songs from the Threshold Choir’s non-denominational repertoire will be offered as a gentle act of communal care, providing a sonic container for listening, rest, and reflection in the reverberant performance hall at Tempo. Free to register. Then, on September 25 & 26, Threshold Choir will join us underground at Widow Jane Mine. Their voices becoming part of the living musical and ritual landscape of Greater Mysteries.
