Zylia, located at 6 Bedford Street, is part of the new Arcade Covent Garden food hall development. It's the latest concept from renown restaurateurs Nick Molyviatis (@toufas) and @barrykaracostas, of Singburi/Kiln/Manna fame. Billed as a Greek Cypriot restaurant, @zylia_taverna serves up some exciting food within a vibrant and buzzy dining room.

On our recent visit, we started with a nice selection from the mezedakia, or small plates, section. These included the aubergine dip, the grilled halloumi, the taramosalata, the metsovane cheese croquettes, and the spanakopita stack. This was followed by their Greek salad, the lamb chops, the beef chop, and the fish of the day, which was a sea bass, butterflied and almost fully deboned. We wrapped up the meal with the kaimaki ice cream sundae. All were delicious, with an extra shout-out for the taramosalata, the cheese croquettes, the lamb chops, the beef chop and the sea bass!

The wine selection is very limited, comprising of just 14 bottles, with most from Greece. Ten of those selections also come in either a carafe or by the glass. Our 2025 Three Bowls assyrtiko was a nice accompaniment to our meal.

Service was a bit of a weak point for the evening. Open since May this year, Zylia may need more time to iron things out, but if you can bear the uneven service, the food is worth a visit.

The first ever Field Trip, presented by London On The Inside, takes place TONIGHT @singburi_e1. And what a way to kick things off - with one of our favourite Thai chefs, Chalitta of @baanlamyai Bangkok.

The menu features her signature dishes, including the chicken wings stuffed with sticky rice and coated in larb seasoning, the pork jowl salad and the startled langoustines - her spin on Baan Lamyai’s classic river prawn dish.

It’s officially sold out, but if the weather plays ball, there’ll be walk-in spots on the terrace. Go grab a bowl of wings and a glass of orange and bask in that Bangkok glow.

Field Trip edition one, in partnership with @opentableuki , has been an excellent outing. Now, onto the next one. WATCH THIS SPACE.

Last night we hosted an intimate dinner for some of our fave hospitality people with @opentableuki . The venue was the incredible @bru.tto where we were looked after by @moniquensierra who even brought out a surprise guest mid-dinner. He was a very good boy!

We had @legarelondon , @samyuktanair , @mandyyinlondon , @publichousegroup @toufas + more at the table, sharing cuddles (THOSE deep fried dough balls), negronis and pasta dishes from the Brutto archives. We chatted new openings, the London restaurant scene, activations, partnerships and more.

Only the third time Brutto has ever hosted a big table dinner (we were truly spoilt). A true reminder of why we love the hospitality industry.

Tasty Thai Food in London!

pleasure* - Report "quick tip" / 147

at @zylia_taverna and Zeus can keep Mt Olympus cos this guy has Mt LAMB CHOPS and feeling just as godly.

Big ups to @toufas for what he’s done here, dropping a little piece of Greece right in the heart of @coventgardenldn - expect homely, taverna vibes with big flames, bigger flavours and a menu of happy food.

It’s a winner start to finish.

If you’ve had great contemporary Thai food in London over the past decade, there’s a good chance @toufas (Nick Molyviatis) had something to do with it. Originally from Greece, Molyviatis was head chef at @kilnsoho when it was named the UK’s best restaurant at our @nationalrestaurantawards in 2018. He went on to play a key role in launching the original @plazakhaogaeng with Luke Farrell before partnering with Sirichai Kularbwong to relaunch cult Leytonstone Thai restaurant @singburi_e1 in a much larger Shoreditch site last year.

But, as he reveals in this interview, he has been trying to open a Greek restaurant since before the pandemic. And he’s now finally done that with @zylia_taverna in Covent Garden.
