POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

I’ve recently moved back to KL after 7 years in the UK! These are some of my favourite sketches from my last couple of months in London. They are just snippets of the life I had there that I’m gonna miss so so much. It’s been really cool looking back at all of my old sketch books from the past of places I used to go, and people I got to meet. Thank you for the memories that I get to keep.
I’ll see you all again soon ❤️
More to come!🙏

If you’re a student, new to Bristol or just want to have a one-on-one with an industry expert, be sure to come along to the latest edition of BAM at Golden Guinea on June 10th from 7:00pm! The fourth of our industry professionals joining us for one-to-one slots is Tova Persson @tovaperson

Tova is a Bristol based animation director, production coordinator, and storyboard artist as well as a co-organiser for BAM!

With 4 years of experience she has worked with roles varying from designer, storyboard artist, and production coordinator. Having worked for a handful of Bristol based companies like Sun & Moon, Rumpus, A Productions, and Aardman where she has been involved in projects for Sesame Street, Horrible Science, BBC Bitesize, and Penhaligons.

Tova directed the short Offerlamm whilst studying at UWE’s School of Animation which had a successful international festival run and won multiple awards. Offerlamm is part of the national archive of contemporary animation at the BFI, has been presented at Playgrounds in Motion, and was nominated for an Audience Award at the British Animation Awards.

She currently works for @luxaeternavfx as their production coordinator working with natural history series and is getting ready to direct her next short!

- Portfolio advice

And our second funding recipient of 2026 is 🥁… ‘Otter’ dir. by @tovaperson !

The 2D animated short film Otter follows two taxidermied otters who are reflecting about their past, when a conflicting nostalgia is awoken through a shared surrealist memory.

“Dir/Prod Swedish-Bristol based duo Tova Persson and Grace Harris, both have a series of animated projects on their CV having worked for British studios like Sun & Moon, Rumpus, and A Productions. Tova’s directorial debut Offerlamm has been a festival hit being shown internationally and won multiple awards and Grace has over 4 years of production experience in the world of British Animation.”

“As Otter is in early pre-production, receiving the Are You Seeing This ‘Cherry on Top’ fund is a great asset to catalyze our project to a start. Using the funding we will bring on a small team of animators to assist in bringing our film to life by providing pay for our hardworking team and to add some extra pizazz to our animated shots!”

They’re excited to bring ‘Otter’ to life, and we can’t wait to see - keep ya posted 🦦

I'm feeling grateful that despite all the unbelievable craziness that has been happening in the world, 2025 was very kind to me.

Thank you for being here with me, your support, lots of lovely conversations and new connections I made this year.

Here's a little recap so I don't forget in case 2026 turns out to be brutal. Also, an excuse to celebrate my amazing friends, couldn't do it without you !!

My piece for @sightofmusic_bristol + the discovery of the shoesock (very important).

Got a new job that I like and doesn't cause me mental breakdowns.
Feature in Pressing Matters!

Developed an obsession with clay and Klee. Got my first tattoo!
I was awarded a little grant to work on my ceramics (more to follow soon).

Fell in love with Paris (I knoww).
Pretended to drink beer in Prague.
Won a pub quiz! (probably for the first and last time ever). Also, got Worlde in one try (historic).

Worked on my favourite commission ever (pianos).
Found a studio space.
Kept on screenprinting.
Did lots of art fairs, organised an exhibition and took part in a couple of group shows.

Hope 2026 is kind to all of us 🌸

That's 2025 almost completely in the rear-view. Wanted to show some love to @cardiffanimation @mcranimation #BarShorts @wia.uk @hungarian_culture_uk @finelinesfestival @festivus180 for occasionally getting me out of the house. And to everyone who supported another fantastic year of @bristol_animation_meetup and the return of @encounterssff. And if you bought a copy of #IntimateAnimation then you're an especially good egg.

Most of all I'm grateful to @lbyellow for being the greatest and strongest human being there is.

Very strange year of loss, health scares and that whole complete-collapse-of-civilisation thing, but the opportunities to spend time with friendly faces are always welcome. Here's to keeping one foot in front of the other 🥂
