A little glimpse inside my studio!

I’m happy to share my Inside the Studio feature with @radicalarchives , where I reflect on the role of place in my practice, the often unseen process of making, and what it means to preserve the stories, gestures, and knowledge we carry with us.

My studio @towerstudiosmiami , in the heart of Little Havana, is a place for experimentation, discovery, and community. It’s where memories meet materials, ideas take unexpected turns, and the ordinary things in life find their way into my work.

Thank you to the WAAM team for the opportunity to share a little of what happens behind the finished artwork.

"I'M FROM EVERYWHERE"
Installation, Performance and Immersive Activity

By: Anna Biondo and Flor Godward

Video: @polm0_studio

I’m not from here, I’m not from there, I’m from everywhere.”
The Yellow House brings together migration across borders and the body as a home that travels with the person. It explores how identity and belonging evolve through movement, shaped by the places people leave behind, the memories they carry, and the new roots they grow.

I’m very happy to invite you to Between Here and Home, my solo exhibition at Barry University.

This exhibition brings together works that explore home not simply as a place, but as something we carry with us through memory, the body, family, migration, and the objects and rituals that connect us to where we come from.

Through painting, embroidery, fiber, sculptural forms, and installation, the works move between what is remembered and what is reconstructed.

The work also considers the complexities of family, the people who shape us, the relationships that change over time, and the presence of those who are no longer with us. Loss and distance become part of the landscape of home, alongside love, memory, and the desire to hold on to what remains.

What a beautiful afternoon surrounded by extraordinary women artists and truly inspiring human beings!

Today we gathered to prepare for our upcoming HISPAFEST 2026 exhibition at TOWER STUDIO in Little Havana, opening October 4. Stay tuned! It will be a Sunday brunch and guided tour of calle 8 ending at The Tower Studios. 5 amazing artists Gretel Capriles, Flor Godward, Elisa Benedetti, Angela Bolaños, and Agustine de Luciano will open their studies to welcome other artists and all guests !!!!

I was also so happy to spend this special time at Agustín’s studio, together with the incredible women artists, friends, and Agustín himself. These encounters remind us that art is not only about what we create, but also are connections, generosity, and the support we share with one another.

Women supporting women, artists supporting artists, and a community coming together through art.

I can’t wait to see this beautiful exhibition come to life!

A new chapter begins.

For a long time, I’ve wanted to create a space to share more than finished artworks. A place for the process, the ideas, the materials, the books on my desk, and the quiet moments that shape the work before it ever leaves the studio.

That’s what Archivo Verde is.

A monthly letter from my studio.

The first issue goes live tomorrow. I hope you’ll join me. 🌿

The Vivification Of The Sparrows” (2024) acrylic and ceramic on wood.

The boy Jesus, five years old, playing by a stream. He molds twelve sparrows from clay on the Sabbath. A Pharisee sees and scolds him for working on the holy day. Jesus claps his hands and says “Go!” — and the clay birds take flight, alive, crying out.

The Infancy Gospel of Thomas. Chapter 2

Before the cross, before the water, before the wine — a boy by a stream, making birds from mud. And they flew.

Four interpretations of a single image.
What began as a photograph I took of the cedars in Lebanon slowly became something else.
Not an attempt to represent what I saw, but to stay with what I felt.
Through the process, the image shifts, softens, almost disappears, and something more honest begins to emerge.
Something that feels more like mine.

Excited to share this new artwork with my online community. Created for The Family of the Artist. a 2025 group exhibition curated by @alunartfoundation at the Tower Hotel in Little Havana (July 18- November 8, 2025). Featuring 24 artists, this intervention explores personal narratives, memory, and familiar bonds through diverse media.

Beneath His Shade
Textile assemblage, acrylic and embroidered thread
66x47
2025

Beneath His Shade is a meditation on memory, heritage, and the ways care and protection take root across generations.
At the heart of this work is the enduring presence of my grandfather—a steady, grounding force and a father figure whose quiet strength shaped my early understanding of love and stability. In times of uncertainty, he was a constant source of solace, embodying patience, generosity, and the unspoken language of protection. His memory is invoked here as that of a tree: steadfast and sheltering, deeply rooted yet open to the changing winds.
The American sycamore tree, with its peeling bark and capacity for renewal, mirrors this inheritance of endurance. Its layered surface, revealing new skin beneath the old, echoes the layered histories within the textiles themselves—histories of migration, adaptation, and the slow cultivation of belonging.
