It’s NOT “The Hamptons.”

Just ask East Hampton town crier, Hugh King, a beloved and local historian who was also the longtime museum director. The Pantigo Windmill has been dedicated to him. He’s an invaluable resource to the community.

ENTEROCOCCUS BACTERIA: ❗️High bacteria levels this week ❗️8 of our testing sites this week exceeded the NY State Department of Health water quality standards. Heavy rainfall on Sunday likely contributed to the high bacteria levels in some locations.

We also tested Fort Pond (medium bacteria) and Fort Pond Bay (low bacteria) on October 1st for the MightyMan Triathlon, as is our annual practice.

HARMFUL ALGAL BLOOMS (HABs):
Our latest HABs testing from October 1st indicated that Fort Pond North and South had Medium Risk of blue-green algae.
