My digital color analysis with Laurence Vail, start to finish: contrast, undertone, neutrals, power color and a full palette.

Laurence is a French colorist and image consultant. She started as a hairstylist specializing in color, trained in France, then spent over 25 years working in the US before moving back to France just before Covid. Now she does color analysis and image consulting. I learned from her early in my career, and she’s still one of my favorite mentors, even with an ocean between us.

She did my analysis entirely online from photos I sent, and I got a 7-step guide back.

What’s in mine:
- Contrast: medium (skin and eyes light, hair medium)
- Undertone: cool
- Neutrals: taupe, blush and steel blue
- Power color: raspberry red
- A digital swatch I can shop from on my phone, plus a fabric swatch that she mailed to me that is small and I can keep in my bag.

I’m looking at color on hair all day. Seeing my own coloring mapped this clearly was a new way to look at it.

Want yours? Laurence does these digitally, from photos you send. DM @laurencecoloristefrancaise for pricing, availability and details. Carousel cover about a digital color analysis with Laurence Vail: black isn't a neutral for everyone.

That old school ‘keep it professional, don’t get close to your clients’ boundary never really worked on me. Some of my actual favorite people in my life started as a hair appointment, no joke. Dms open, you might end up one of them too.

For a historic Chestnut Hill home, the landscape should feel like it belongs there.

We created a historic-inspired hardscape design that complements the architecture, honors the character of the property, and feels as though it has evolved with the home over time. Thoughtful stonework, timeless materials, and carefully considered details create a seamless connection between the house and its landscape.

“Girls belong in the kitchen.”

Fine. Let us cook. 👩🏼‍🍳🥂

Because put a group of women in a room and suddenly you’ve got new connections, new ideas, new opportunities… and probably a group chat by the end of the night.

This is what OOO is about — getting women in the same space and seeing what happens next-it’s magical.

Come for the experience. Stay for the people you meet. ✨
