For families navigating severe food allergies and anaphylaxis, access to treatment can be life-changing, but financial hardship can make it difficult to complete that care.

Based in Long Beach, the Translational Pulmonary and Immunology Research Center (@tpirc_org ) advances research and patient care for complex lung, food allergy, immune-mediated, and rare diseases. Their work spans the full journey from understanding diseases at the molecular level to developing personalized care for patients.

Funds raised through Long Beach Gives have previously supported both research projects and direct patient assistance. This year, TPIRC is raising money for its Access for All Grant, which helps families facing financial strain offset treatment costs so their children can continue receiving specialized food allergy care.

Support TPIRC during Long Beach Gives and help ensure that financial challenges don’t interrupt a child’s path toward completing treatment and living more safely with food allergies.

“How I discovered the Tolerance Induction Program”: Part 1

Long before the @food.allergy.institute existed, our scientific foundation was being built at TPIRC (Translational Pulmonary & Immunology Research Center). 🏥

Founded as a non-profit research institution, TPIRC was built on a bold foundation: harnessing high-resolution bio-data and advanced medical research to solve complex immune diseases. It was through TPIRC’s groundbreaking research that our proprietary Tolerance Induction Program® (TIP) was born. 🧬

As the data proved that long-term remission was actually possible, FAI was created to bring this revolutionary, life-changing treatment directly to thousands of families worldwide.

2.5 years ago, we started a journey I never could have imagined.

Countless appointments.
So. Many. Food challenges.
Daily maintenance.
Tiny wins that felt HUGE.
And a whole lot of faith, patience and persistence.

And now…we’re just DAYS away from their final Food Freedom appointment 🥹🎉

Two of my babies are approaching something I once only dreamed would be possible:

FOOD FREEDOM 🥹❤️

TIP has completely changed our lives…not just because of the foods they can eat now, but because of the freedom it has given our whole family.

Freedom from fear.

Freedom to travel, eat out, celebrate and simply let them be kids.

Was 2.5 years easy? Absolutely not.

My brother was able to experience an ice cream shop for the first time in his life at Frankie & Jo’s (And he didn’t even have to get a sorbet)!

My brother has severe food allergies to dairy, eggs, and wheat. I have celiac disease myself.

For the first time, we both could order every, single item on the menu! It was the most meaningful experience ❤️

The ice cream and cones were incredible! I got Passion Fruit, and my brother got Salted Caramel Ash and Strawberry Cookies & Cream!

Huge thank you to @tpirc_org @food.allergy.institute for clearing my brother for cashews earlier this year so he was able to have this moment!
