Whew!!! What a blessing this past week has been! Kelsey put on a great presentation representing Germantown last week at Miss Tennessee! I am so proud of her for her hard work and dedication to the Miss Tennessee Opportunity and to herself. Kelsey also made the T10 in ad sales. Thank you to our sponsors and supporters this year! I will admit I was worried how things would go at our first state pageant without Mommy. God knows I had many moments of tears. But I’m so grateful for our family. Memama & GDadden always come through for Kelsey. Thanks also to @traceeroderick for being godmother/sister/pageant fairy Godmother for us during the week and throughout the process. @suzannerenejackson for her love, support, and truth. @kellye.cash for being herself when we needed it the most! Congrats to @colenetrent and the entire @misstennesseeorg organization for another spectacular production and pageant week! Congratulations to our new @missamericatn & @misstnteencomp . We are ready to support and root you on at Miss America and beyond. To the new Forevers @analee and @zoee.lawrence I am so proud of you both for a fantastic year of service to our state. I wish you all the best in all you aspire to do from this moment on. Also to Zoe. Our love for you is forever. You know how we feel. And words just aren’t enough. We Love you kid! Whew! I’m tired y’all. That was a long week! Now on to conference season and back onstage for me. #misstennessee #statepageant @lanskybros @stockandbelle

March Moments: Landscape Edition

1. Playwright cohort at @lonetreelive. ✍🏾 Got to take in (and pour into) the beginnings of some really funny, fantastical, poignant, sobering, absurdist, wildly entertaining stories. And deeply appreciative of their feedback on mine.

2. Weekend trip to ATL so Stevie could visit with one of his summer stem program friends. Seeing them light up to be in the same city again was the best.

3. My Papa. So forever grateful for his love in word and deed. Gonna have this printed to keep these words close. ♥️

4. Marble girl. In a moment of rest.

5. My 2nd favorite shot from our winery weekend. We all had a blast! 🍷

We just lost ⛈️power⛈️and I’m sitting in the dark reflecting on how much I enjoyed participating in @lonetreelive ‘s inaugural Seed to Script cohort! Today was our last day of table reads and I’m going to miss spending my Sunday brunch hours with such a hilarious and perceptive group (including the ones not pictured). Thanks for everything, & see ya soon 🙇🏾‍♀️✌🏾🖖🏾🙏🏾❤️‍🔥 #latergram

5 minutes after I put up that post, I'll get a call telling me that I want a prize from the silent auction at Live Rich Die Poor... And, of course, I walked back down the street and got it! Again, it was a beautiful night full of love and confirmation. #GoodGirlDiaryPage #AZorafullNight #beautifulday

In some ways I’ve eased into this year. In other ways, it launched full throttle. In either case, January was filled with family, theatre, old friends & new, lively conversations over really good coffee, and being in spaces where art, learning, self-expression and growth abounds. May it set the tone for the months to come.

I'm still reeling off of last night! I had such a great time not only sharing my films, but also sharing a platform with two amazing, creative women that blessed the screen! @azairelovejunt, @marsenasignatures, @traceeroderick and @jessica.r.chaney, thank you so much for being the feminine energy I needed!! #goodgirldiarypage #issablackgirlfilmmaker

Celebrating family and birthdays! Glad my cousin reminded us that we should come together more often in celebration than sorrow. Making family days a thing as often as possible. #familytime #celebratinglife
