Meet Tracey Doxey | Plümo People⁠ Series. ⁠
⁠⁠
Tracey is a textile artist and knitter based in Sheffield, whose work draws inspiration from colour, landscape, travel and the small details of everyday life.⁠
⁠
Having knitted for over 50 years, she combines traditional techniques with a wonderfully curious and experimental approach. The dramatic landscapes, changing weather and rich knitting traditions of Shetland, where she once lived, remain a lasting influence on her work, alongside her travels further afield, including a recent artist residency at the foot of Mount Fuji in Japan.⁠

Today, she creates her own knitted pieces, designs patterns and runs workshops, sharing her love of colour and texture. ⁠
⁠
Tracey has also been a Plümo customer for many years, and we are delighted to share her lovely work as part of our Plümo People series.⁠

Tuesday & Thursday
VOLUNTEER SESSION. 9:30-12:30. Help build and maintain our community garden! These weekly volunteer sessions are a space to meet new people, help nature recovery and learn something new. Expect general gardening or some manual labour. No experience needed and all abilities welcome- there’s always a choice of what to do! Please drop us a message or email manager@woodseatscommunitygarden.org.uk to sign-up.

OPEN GARDEN AFTERNOON. 1:30-4. A time to drop-in and enjoy the garden, take a walk, read a book or let the kind loose in the mud kitchen!

Wednesday
ART FOR WELL-BEING. 10-12. Join us for our Art Journaling sessions on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday each month. Whether you’re an experienced artist or just looking to explore your creative side, these sessions are a great way to unwind, think and create in a welcoming and relaxed environment. Thursday
MINDFUL MOVEMENTS. 2-3:30. A class of gentle movement followed by a tea/coffee, ran by Community Wellness Services every Thursday at the Garden. It’s free to attend and no booking required.

SHEFFIELD THRIFT FESTIVAL. 10-4. Ran by the_flawed_project Sheffield Thrift Festival is a day full of celebrating sustainable crafts and practices. With workshops and talks throughout the day and refreshments by Open House Sheffield. Head over to @the_flawed_project for more info!!
