This kid is obsessed with books ... Don't know where he gets it from! Quincey's current reads are: The Three Little Pigs, The Little Ghost who Lost her Boo, The Night Tiger, The Big Dig, Construction Trucks, a random trucking magazine from the op shop, Steve Irwin: Little People, Big Dreams series, 'the snake book' (The Rainbow Serpent) and I Want To See A Car (I wrote for him). So perhaps it is natural to be reading 5 million books at once after all!

Is anyone else on Margins yet? A student recommended this to me and I'm trying it out because Goodreads is such a dinosaur... Like the potential is there but it's just so slow... I've sent some bookish people a request (had to send it from my personal account). It looks pretty cool! I like the calendar progress charts. It imported everything from Goodreads and you can do it from others. Will see how it goes!

End of an era 🤍🩵💙

After almost four years, my time at Smart Active Solutions is coming to an end.

When I started in October 2022, I had no experience in personal training & just decided to give it a go. Since then, I’ve become qualified, found a real passion for helping people, and grown so much both personally and professionally.

A huge thank you to Budda and Aimee for giving me this opportunity and supporting me over the years.

And to all of my clients, thank you for trusting me to be part of your journey. Watching your progress, celebrating your wins, and seeing your confidence grow has been the best part of this job. I’m looking forward to making the most of these final few weeks with you before my last day on July 31st.

As sad as I am to be leaving such an amazing gym, I’m really excited for what’s to come. I’ll be sharing more soon, but I’m looking forward to starting my own independent personal training business. Can’t wait to see what this next chapter brings 🥰

Thank you to everyone who sent through pics of the launch... ! So grateful to have a visual record of the day 😊

If anyone on Northland wants a copy just message me for payment details and arrange a pick up drop with me.

Otherwise you can order 'in quiet winds we settle' online just go to tracielark.com

It's school holidays so time for me to work on my next project and anthology of short stories which I plan to name after one of my published stories 'Pockets of Silver Sun'. Similar to iqwws these stories have an unlikely resolution, not a Hollywood ending, kind of like life in general. Publication details will come later this year!

Thank you from my big full heart to everyone who came to my book launch for 'in quiet winds we settle' on Saturday and thank you to those who sent warm messages who couldn't come. Thank you to all my friends who helped set up and run the show behind the scenes and to Amber and her crew for delicious food. A special thanks to @ashbrookharry and @charlottepridham for your amazingly inspiring rendition of Sunsets With The Edgewater. Thanks to @hayl_yr and Dane for surprising me at the launch, they flew all the way from Australia and I had no idea! I love the connection with our creative whanau and and so grateful especially because the sun was shining!! Sun ☀️ 🌞 ☀️ 🌞

You can now buy the book online at tracielark.com from Lulu and I'm still waiting for it to be approved for Global Distribution. It will be cheaper to order online if you don't live in the north island but I still have copies here if you are around Whangas just message me. Link in bio.

For anyone interested in the Lulu publishing experience I will post about this at some point as it was a learning curve!

Much aroha all round xx

It's only been 12 years since my last poetry book launch... That was 2014, Melbourne, and oh how we celebrated! in quiet winds we settle has had many versions, it has had the wonderful attentive eye of poet Denise O'Hagen in an earlier form, and was shortlisted three times for publication, and is finally (almost) ready to enter your reading world. Launch details coming soon.
