Working on my next publication... A short story collection called 'Stranger, Friend'.

Strange friends and friendly strangers... Odd encounters and encountering odds. These stories draw the line between reality and illusion through unreliable narrators and warbled settings. They toy with slippages between the conscious and subconscious and society's normal to the uncanny other. These transgressions create a new kind of acceptance, a third space of possibilities in life's seemingly impossible paradoxes.

The collection will include a mixture of published and unpublished short stories.

This kid is obsessed with books ... Don't know where he gets it from! Quincey's current reads are: The Three Little Pigs, The Little Ghost who Lost her Boo, The Night Tiger, The Big Dig, Construction Trucks, a random trucking magazine from the op shop, Steve Irwin: Little People, Big Dreams series, 'the snake book' (The Rainbow Serpent) and I Want To See A Car (I wrote for him). So perhaps it is natural to be reading 5 million books at once after all!

Okay here's my take on what I could have spent $24 on instead:
- two copies of Fast Fibres 13 and a coffee ☕
- one copy of my book 'in quiet winds we settle' posted to someone in Au with chocolate from NZ 🍫
- a toy forklift for my child and a coffee 🧰
- a splash of fuel ⛽
- the claw of a dragon tattoo 🐲
- about 6 other ebooks on my kindle 📚

My advice is wait until it's on Unlimited or get it when the price comes down. It's good but $24 for an ebook is too much and I wish I'd spent that money on local authors instead.

Is anyone else on Margins yet? A student recommended this to me and I'm trying it out because Goodreads is such a dinosaur... Like the potential is there but it's just so slow... I've sent some bookish people a request (had to send it from my personal account). It looks pretty cool! I like the calendar progress charts. It's school holidays so time for me to work on my next project and anthology of short stories which I plan to name after one of my published stories 'Pockets of Silver Sun'. Similar to iqwws these stories have an unlikely resolution, not a Hollywood ending, kind of like life in general. Publication details will come later this year!
