Day 3 of “week without driving” started with walking my kids to Saturday soccer games at @palumboreccenter. (We’ve been proud to work with @repbwaxman to secure $530k to refurbish their fields). #weekwithoutdrivingpa

I headed to the Broad Street Line to make the first leg of a trip to Malvern.

I was trying to get to 30th Street Station—but the El was running ~20 mins behind 😬.

So I quickly checked the @transit.app, and made a decision to go to Suburban Station…

…and got the Trenton line!

30th Street is and will forever be the best train station in the northeast (don’t @ me about Grand Central). I caught the Amtrak to Paoli. BUT: from Paoli, a car has to pick me up to cover what was literally a “last mile” so I could get to my ultimate destination…

…where I joined supporters for an event supporting the extraordinary musicians of @thephillypops. (We’ve been proud to secure $325k over the last three years to support their work.)

I took regional rail back to Jefferson Station, and ran to catch a timely 45 bus at 12th and Market to 12th and Pine…

…where I met my wife at @kiddorestaurant (we had a babysitter).

We walked to the Philadelphia Film Center and saw the final @phillyfilmsociety “Surprise 35” screening of the year—which (surprise!) was actually the first movie ever shown by PFS on new **70mm cameras** acquired this year: the still wild and relentlessly inventive “Boogie Nights” (1997) from Paul Thomas Anderson.

The movie started 45 minutes late (technical difficulties with the new cameras!). Very late to relieve the babysitter, we—I confess—took a taxi that we hailed on the street to get back in a reasonable amount of time.
