📍 Monkey Fingers Canyon, Morocco.

In the Dades valley you can find this incredible rock formation which if you look closely at the last photo looks like monkey fingers! 🐒

We stayed right in front of the rocks on the parking lot of a hotel which was pretty cool.

Apparently you can do a hike through the Canyon, so we found the trail on AllTrails and set off the next day. Basically half way through we were struggling to find the right way. 😂 We were trying to get over the rocks as we saw a guide going over there when we suddenly heard 'hi guys, how are you?' It turned out to be another guide with a family of 3. After talking with them we tagged along with them the rest of the hike. Lets just say we never would have found our way that direction. 🥲 Walking through the carved out Canyon was incredible and when we came out at the top we had a visit at a 'local family' which lived in the carved out caves where we had some tea.

Hot and exhausted but happy hikers we returned to our little spot in front of the monkey fingers watching the sunset. •

Day 26 till 32 driving from The Netherlands to South-Africa!

Little note: found out afterwards that Ghana has the tallest waterfall of West Africa. In my defense, I got my information from the person who always claims to know better. So yeah. That myth has been busted now, too.😜

We went into the Sahara for the ride.
Ended up sitting in a Riad, drinking Coke with a local we'd just met. 🏜️🥤
No itinerary. No expectations.
Just Morocco doing what Morocco does best. 🇲🇦🏍️

One of those breakdowns that turned into one of our favourite experiences in Morocco. 🇲🇦

We broke down with a diesel issue, and after trying to fix it ourselves with no luck, we found these legends in Tinghir who took us in and got stuck into it. Turns out it was just a tiny leak in the diesel line… but it took the boys 6 hours to track it down and get us back on the road! 🔧😂

While we waited, we had lunch with them not once, but twice in the workshop, shared plenty of laughs, and ended up staying the night parked out the front.
What started as a stressful breakdown turned into one of those unexpected travel experiences we'll never forget. ❤️

A huge thank you to these guys for looking after us and making us feel so welcome. This is the Morocco we’ll remember. 🇲🇦❤️ •

📍Erg Chebbi, Morocco.

One of those special moments you always will remember.

Merzouga is famous for its Erg Chebbi sanddunes, on the edge of the Sahara Desert.

We first went ourselves into the dunes a little bit but didn't went too far as we just didn't know where exactly to go and it was cool to just drive on the sand anyways. When we came out of the dunes and were putting up our tires suddenly this car stops next to us with a German truck. It turned out to be a guide which I have seen mentioned on several fb groups people recommend for driving through the dunes haha. We weren't planning on doing it, but we are only here once so heck, why not?

Booked the trip with him and off we went that afternoon! & what an experience it was, we absolutely loved driving through those sanddunes! It was incredible and Ali knew exactly where to go and how to get the car through the dunes.

So if you want to drive through the sanddunes in Merzouga, we can definitely recommend him!👌 •

Expect the unexpected when driving through Morocco.😅

While driving on one of the dirt roads following the TMT suddenly some buildings popped up in the distance and a woman started running out of the house towards our car. Not knowing what to expect we ended up getting invited in her home for some Moroccan tea, with bread and olive oil!

Incredible lovely and so generous! Something what we will never forget.🫶 •
