One of the people in the photo is Max Muster or Joni who is the first to knock out the HAT from Test to Midelt in one 5-day sweep on his 690. All in a few days work after riding back from Guelb er Richat in Mauritania.

Full High Atlas Traverse Solo on KTM 690
Hello everyone,
this post will be my review of the HAT.
My name is Joni and I’ve just completed the HAT Solo in 5 Days. My setup was a modified KTM 690 Enduro 2015 with Luggage (Mosko R80). My starting point was Agadir where I did an oil change. Looking back I should have also gotten a new tire cause my set has already had almost 10.000km from my trip to the eye of the Sahara in Mauretania.
I did Agadir to the end of H0 on the 12.10.
after that the rest took me 4 Days. For each section one day. H1 and H2 I did on the 13.10 and 14.10. the temperatures were nice mostly so I could ride in the jersey or with a fleece on top of that. I encountered no snow or Ice. When it comes to the difficulty these sections are easy to drive. You probably won’t have a problem with a big bike.
On H3 and H4 I rode mostly with my Hardshell because it was quite cold. H3 was the longest day for me. I had to do some repairs and because of that I only got going at around 10:30. I arrived in Imilchil right on the sunset at around 18:00 so the H3 took about 07:30 to ride (with breaks and taking photos). The H3 I would rate the difficulty hard because of the following two sections. First the marked landslide „H3 Landslide 09/26“ at 30R TA 32978 33900. There are two landslides. The first one has enough space on the side to get around with a bike (slowly and carefully). The second one you have to go over the top. Here I made a mistake. The track after the landslide has on the inner side big rocks. There is about 1/4 on the side of the slope down where the dirt is compacted and good to drive. I did not get there right away and drove to the big rocks. I had to go slowly back to get momentum and then drive up the hill on that outer part. The second part is the riverbed after the „H3 Two Mast Hill“ at 30S TA 36381 46001. This is what I would call an enduro section. [continues]... by @transmoroccotrail

Just doing a periodic photo cull and came across these great shots from #JebelSaghro in Morocco with @jamesshoemark and @mr.mattsavage. #Saghro is a distinctive massif jammed between the High Atlas, Anti Atlas and the desert. Most people take one or two epic but obvious routes across. Zoom in and you'll find there’s loads to explore on #Saghro.

We think it's been pretty hot in Europe this last week or so, and right now 40-41 in Ouarzazate, southern Morocco.
But spare a thought for In Salah in Algeria on the #TransSaharanHighway which, along with Ouargla, is Algeria's hottest town. As far as the forecast shows, for the next week or more it's mid to high 40s, never less than low 30s at night, and this morning a howling easterly sandstorm is blowing. 'Excessive heat', warns Google Weather.
I passed through In Salah once in September on a nutty, home-made bike and got as far as Arak, half a day south of In Salah where the TSH begins to get interesting.
Big mistake. Unlike Europe, September in Sahara the summer is not on the turn so as you'd notice. I had to drink 10L a day (all I carried), another 5L at night waking up parched and croaking, and could not ride for more than 30 mins before the dryness crept down my throat. Breathing 40C+ air, you realise dehydration gets you from the insides. by @transmoroccotrail

Huge celebrations right across Morocco for the groundbreaking centenary of the Tizi n Test pass which is also Kilometre Zero of the 900km High Atlas Traverse following the High Atlas Watershed.
It took them 6 years to hack the Tizi n Test road from the mountainside, and currently many more to widen it.
You'll get up there in an hour from Marrakech, flip round then easily complete the #HighAtlasTraverse in less than 6 days.
Best time: once Morocco cools off (October – it's over 40° all next week in the south) and before the first big snows of winter. #HAT More: transmoroccotrail.org by @transmoroccotrail

Desert Riders :: The great unknown—off-piste in the Sahara 🏜️

The three of us reigned in our 650s, cut the engines, and stared ahead. Around us the horizon was a flat 360-degree sweep—sky above, the sands of the Ténéré desert below. But what was that a few miles ahead? An army patrol or smugglers, neither of which we wanted to meet, or just the harmless silhouette of the Lost Tree for which we’d set course that morning? I zoomed in with the camcorder but was none the wiser. If anyone was there they’d have spotted us by now.

It was January 2003. A couple of weeks earlier I’d crossed from Tunisia into Algeria with two friends, Andy and Jon, and together we rode south through the oil fields of the Grand Erg Oriental—a sand sea the size of Ireland. A day or two in, we pulled in behind a big dune, fitted our Michelin knobblies, and buried the trail tyres for the ride home.

French-Algerian artist Zineb Sedira’s installation at Tate Britain pays heartfelt homage to the film-makers of her parents’ homeland, but is more history lesson than cinematic experience.

First crossing of HAT4 yesterday, from Midelt to Imilchil, according to TMT FB.
"We finished doing the HAT 4 from Midelt to Imilchil and encountered 5 snow zones on the track in the highest area. We went off-road but it's not easy, it's not recommended for heavy motorcycles and riders with little off-road experience. 4x4 vehicles cannot pass through these zones."
