Everybody’s welcome to the first @tranzitorg assembly! Performances, debates and more in a five-hour programme at @ail_vienna on December 4, 2026. The evening will be split into two parts, with a break for drinks and snacks in between. Part One runs from 4:30 to 7pm, followed by Part Two from 7:30 to 9:30pm. We’d love to see you for the whole evening or just one part of it. You’ll find the RSVP form on the @tranzitorg profile, and if you can’t decide until the last minute, walk-ins are welcome too! Part one opens at 4:30 p.m. with a welcome by Dóra Hegyi (@tranzit.hu), Georg Schöllhammer (@tranzit.at) and Katrin Klingan (@erstefoundation), followed by a performance by @evajiricka. Maria Hlavajova and Kathrin Rhomberg then meet in a conversation moderated by @eriolasgram. The first part continues with a lecture-performance and textile installation by @ferencgrof and Zsófia Gyenes, and closes with a lecture-performance by @saint.lambo, before a break with drinks and snacks from 7:00 to 7:30 p.m. Part two, from 7:30 p.m., turns to where we are going. It begins with an introduction by @jtkangel (@tranzitsk) and @stejskaltereza (@tranzit.cz), and a performance by @pankikimun and @borisondreicka, followed by a performance by @gary__farrelly. @alexandrapirici and @suburbanelectrostar then meet in a conversation moderated by @liviapancu. Subsequently, @areedge presents a performance, followed by a lecture-performance by @mer_hardt. The programme closes with the Austrian launch of the book tranzit 20+, presented by its editors @floragado and @boriborbalasoos. From 9:30 p.m. until 11:00 p.m., the evening winds down into an open, unhurried celebration: time to stay, talk, meet old friends and new ones over drinks and music. Photos:

We mourn the passing of Boris Marte Boris Marte (1964–2026) was a visionary figure who spent many years working in Austrian cultural policy before joining ERSTE Bank’s sponsorship department. In this role, he played a crucial part in establishing the @tranzitorg network and remained a dedicated advocate for its existence and development over many years. He was also instrumental in building the ERSTE Foundation, which has made countless important cultural, educational and social initiatives possible. The international art world has lost an exceptional advocate and a committed supporter of art and culture. We deeply miss him.

INSTITUTION(ING)S GLOSSARY (2025-2028) We are receiving new submissions! The glossary is a digital platform that will continue to reflect and think through the coexistence of contemporary cultures with the ones that are either lost, erased, endangered as they continue to be persecuted and ought to be revived — what are the languages we want to dismantle within our diverse vocabularies, or those we want to be loudly shared and acknowledged? The platform will allow creating a generous dialogue with people through a singular medium to share things that have meaning to them. The glossary also aims to provide a resource as an open archive to extensively share knowledge that remains little known or unknown. The glossary is an imaginary space that reflects a thinking process. The glossary is edited by Cindy Sissokho @cindysissokho and designed by Denise Santos @deni__aleixo, with the support of vivóeusébio @vivoeusebio More information on Institution(ing)s website, link in bio.
