I just had the BEST time chatting with Becca Post @_beccapost , Amanda Murphy @luxhealingarts , and Courtney Lewallen @traverse_beyond on IG Live, and now I’m even MORE excited for our upcoming Growth & Gratitude panel! 🙌❤️

One of my favorite parts of hosting these conversations is getting to know the women beyond their titles and accomplishments.

And these three ladies have me SO excited for what’s ahead! 🥹

Because here’s the thing about growth…

We’re often terrified to dig deep and have our traumas, insecurities, and fears bubble to the surface. Like we talked in this IG Live giving those things some air and space to fall firmly into the ground is how we grow. Growth is a way to love yourself and taking that first brave step into the yuk is difficult, but we’ve got you.

And that’s exactly why conversations about growth AND gratitude matter. We are all in this together.

GROWTH & GRATITUDE: BECAUSE SOMETIMES WE NEED TO STOP AND RECOGNIZE HOW FAR WE’VE COME.

As women, we’re really good at looking ahead at the next goal, the next milestone, the next thing we need to accomplish. But how often do we stop long enough to appreciate everything we’ve already done?

The challenges we’ve overcome. The chances we’ve taken. The people who’ve supported us along the way.

Growth isn’t just about where we’re going. It’s also about recognizing how far we’ve come. 🌱

That’s why I’m so excited for our next Ember Women panel, Growth & Gratitude!

We’re creating space for honest conversations, meaningful connections, and a little reflection on what it means to grow personally and professionally while appreciating the journey.

Whether you’re building a business, growing your career, navigating change, or simply figuring out what’s next, there’s something powerful about being in a room with women who understand that journey.

Trip of a lifetime 🇰🇭🏯🪷
Months of planning went into this three week trip spanning 4 Asian countries in just under three weeks. The crux of it all was an 8 day highly curated itinerary with @tracysueflips and her non-profit @kidsplayintl where we participated in World Mental Health Day in Siem Reap Cambodia. Families from nearby communities and schools joined to learn about literacy programs, tap into resources for girls and get info from anti-trafficking orgs. We visited @abcsandrice a local partner school that teaches English and provides families with meals and clean water. We joined KPI's signature Let's Play Fair program which aims to educate populations who have experienced genocide about gender equality through sport. Doing all of this with my 7 year old in tow was challenging especially as we adjusted to different time zones, didn't speak the native language and embraced so much newness (foods, climates, transportation methods) all while navigating the tricky topic of self expression and gender. I suspect her haircut caused a bit of confusion which became an unexpected gift - an opportunity to sit with the uncomfortable feelings of being 'othered' and learn how to navigate tough conversations with a language barrier. Ember got through it by staying engaged and making a big effort not to shrink but continue to shine and take up space. In the end we got plenty of high fives, hugs and made heartfelt connections. Shifting culture doesn't happen overnight but with time, attention and a lot of love, a more just and equitable society is possible. We'll never forget this experience and the wonderful people we met. The Ember Women panels have become something special to me. This group of women…we sat down and realized one woman’s parents knew the other’s in-laws, two of the women grew up in Maine, synchronicities are always happening!

It’s wild! But if you want to know about the upcoming panels, there is one next week on October 6th from 1-3 pm and these fine ladies in the picture here will be on a panel November 10th from 1-3 pm.

Big birthday year for the family. 🥳

Dad turned 70. My brother is turning 30. And I am creeping up on my own milestone decade, though I still have a few months to live delightfully in this one. 😂

Here’s the thing. We are scattered. Dad is in Denver. My brother is in Atlanta. I am in Salt Lake. I get to see my dad about once a month if I am lucky. My brother? It had been way too long.

So we did what any reasonable scattered family does. We all flew into Portland, Oregon and adventured our way from the mountains to the coast and everywhere in between.

Huge thanks to my brother, who has never once missed a good band within a fifty mile radius of wherever he is standing, for tipping us off to the Infamous Stringdusters. 🪕

And huge thanks to my dad, who is the one who actually pushed for this whole trip to happen in the first place. 🫶

Time moves fast. Life moves faster. And somehow between mountains, coastline and a very good bluegrass show, we all got to just be together. No agenda. No occasion needed other than the fact that we are all getting delightfully older.

Team Sugar’s last ride of the season is here… and we’re definitely a little sad about it! 🥹🚲🧡
We’re excited to have Charlottebackus kicking things off before the ride with a quick chat about training, nutrition, fueling, and how to keep your fitness and motivation going as we head into the changing season.
Charlotte will also be raffling off coaching programs, so come a little early, say hi, bring your training questions, and you might leave with some extra support toward your cycling goals!
It’s bittersweet to wrap up another season, but we can’t think of a better way to finish than riding together with the Team Sugar community. 🧡

I couldn’t wait to leave. Now I can’t wait to come back. 🌲

Maine. Alabama. New Hampshire. Georgia. Oman. Chile. Colorado. Now Utah.

As a kid you do not realize what roots actually do for you. You just want to leave. I lived in 8 different homes in this tiny town growing up and honestly I could not wait to get out.

Now I come back every single summer and I understand completely.

I was born on January 2nd in the middle of a snowstorm. The first baby born in my town and the two surrounding towns that year. My great grandfather Thomas Chute was the first settler of this town. And I was born on its 250th anniversary.

There is a whole family history woven into this place that I did not appreciate until I had spent enough time away from it.

There is a specific energy I feel the moment I arrive. Grounded. Rooted. It feels like a vacation and a return home all at once.

There is a longing in me that wants to hold onto this forever. Even though I know change is inevitable. Even though nothing stays the same. And maybe that is exactly why it matters so much to appreciate this moment for exactly what it is right now.

This lake. This water. These people. This town that raised generations of my family before me.

I have built a life around helping people leave their comfort zones and go find themselves in the world. And what I have learned again and again, both in my own life and in watching others, is that stepping outside of what is familiar is often exactly what teaches you how special coming home really is.

The going does not take away from the roots. It deepens your appreciation for them.

Maine will always be home. No matter how far I travel or how many places I call home along the way. 🤍

This Wednesday @ 5:30pm: Two hours that could change everything on the trail!

One of our own, Courtney Lewallen of @traverse_beyond, is teaching a Wilderness First Aid Clinic with Park City Rec built specifically for hikers and mountain bikers. Courtney has been teaching Wilderness First Aid and Wilderness First Responder courses since 2009 — this is the real deal.
Scene safety, heat and cold emergencies, physical injuries, medical emergencies, and exactly what to carry in your kit.

Not a certification class. Just real, practical knowledge for anyone who rides and adventures outdoors.
Bring a pen and notebook — there’s a lot of good info to cover.
