A love of great food 🔥 That was the spirit of Celebrate the Craft 2026 food festival at The Lodge at Torrey Pines. The day was all about incredible food, camaraderie and celebrating San Diego's incredible culinary scene. What I love about this annual event, is that it's about more than what's the chefs are serving. It's the conversations with chefs, and the connections with people that brings everyone together for an amazing afternoon. Heart health is personal ❤️ This year, we’re honored to support the Eric Paredes Save A Life Foundation and their incredible mission to prevent sudden cardiac arrest in young people through free heart screenings, education, and awareness. After recently losing our dear friend and colleague Steve, and remembering beloved chef @chefjameskent and the countless others our hospitality community has lost too soon, this cause feels especially close to our hearts. In hospitality, we spend so much of our lives taking care of others, and this is a reminder of how important it is to take care of ourselves and the people we love. With so many young people making up our restaurant family, we’re especially proud to support a program that encourages heart health awareness from an early age. Founded in memory of Eric Paredes, a 15-year-old San Diego student-athlete who tragically lost his life to sudden cardiac arrest, the foundation has helped provide tens of thousands of free heart screenings to young people throughout our community. Their next Screen Your Teen event takes place October 25 at Mission Bay High School, offering free heart screenings for young people ages 12–25. Please help us spread the word.
