🌿 Not your average trail.

Last week, The Bentway officially joined the Trans Canada Trail, connecting our vibrant public space beneath the Gardiner to the longest multi-use trail network in the world.

More than a route from A to B, the Bentway West Loop is a place to move, experience art, connect with neighbours, and discover what public space can be.

This milestone is an exciting step toward a more connected Toronto, linking our neighbourhoods, downtown, and waterfront to a trail network that stretches across Canada.

🔗 Come explore the Bentway West Loop and discover where this new connection can take you. Link in bio!

Some venues don’t need much dressing, their natural beauty does the work✨

David & Kirk’s celebration unfolded from cocktails in the Glass House to a ceremony beneath the Cathedral of Trees, before guests gathered in the light-filled Forest Gallery for dinner overlooking the forest.

A truly special day made even more meaningful as the first event of our new partnership with @trca_hq.
We can’t wait to be back🫶

The Jim Tovey Lakeview Conservation Area is a 26-hectare green-space located in @visitmississauga and it borders with Etobicoke. It is part of the @cvc_ca network in partnership with @trca_hq and @peelregion.ca to honour the legacy of late Jim Tovey the councillor for Ward 1 who championed the revival of the Lakeview shoreline. It opened to the public on May 30, 2026. Slides 13-15 were taken on my new Photo Rig attachment for the @n_o_c_s #binoculars

New trees have been planted in Sesquicentennial Park! 🌳

In partnership with @trca_hq, Trick or Tree was a community tree planting event to grow Brampton’s urban forest. Residents showed up in their favourite Halloween costumes to bring festive fun to a day of giving back to the community.

Thanks to everyone who participated in helping build a greener #Brampton. 💚

🌊💰 Funding Friday!

This week I pulled together five funding, prize and scholarship opportunities across oceans, climate, sustainability and conservation.

There’s a pretty wide range here — from student scholarships to startup commercialization funding to major collaborative ocean innovation projects.

A few worth checking out:

🌊 @oceanstartup — up to $25,000 for eligible Canadian ocean startups working toward pilots, demonstrations, deployment and commercialization.

💰 @canadaosc — support for collaborative ocean innovation projects, including sustainable seafood, ocean energy, transportation and climate solutions.

🚀 @innovate_bc — funding for B.C.-based companies working through commercialization and investment-readiness barriers, including marine and port operations.

🌎 @cep_mit — more than US$100,000 in prize funding for student-led climate and energy startups from around the world.

🌱 @trca_hq — three $2,000 B. Harper Bull Scholarships for post-secondary students studying in fields connected to conservation and cultural heritage.

Swipe through for the high-level eligibility, funding amounts and deadlines. 👉

Comment “funding” and I’ll DM you the links.

And if you know a founder, student or organization that might be a fit, send this their way.
