A month after the protest and I still cannot get over how incredible the 15th of August was!

From getting ready in the morning and very anxiously watching to make sure the humidity % did not rise.

To getting up on the steps of the department of health and not only get to speak about the community, but also then after to shout out a list of advocates was a surreal experience.

I'm always going to be grateful for these protests,
Why?
Because for once I don't feel alone, I see how many of us are out there shouting, and I realise how many would have wanted to be there but cannot.

I'll see you all again on the 3rd of December

For now, I cannot believe it's already been a month

Nobody wants to be out marching through Dublin just to demand basic medical care, but until the system changes, we won't be silent. 📢

Proper endometriosis care isn't a luxury - it’s a basic human right. Women in Ireland deserve accessible, specialist treatment without having to fly abroad, endure years of waiting, or fight endless administrative battles just to be heard.

Solidarity with everyone who showed up yesterday. Roll on December 3rd! Change is long overdue. @roinnslainte 🎗️✊

We need you to make noise for us before the protest.
Talk about it,
Share it,
Get people to know about it.

We need proper healthcare.

Women should NOT be told they are too complex for healthcare and left to manage that themselves.

Women should NOT be suffering due to the callous egos of healthcare workers.

Women should NOT be begging for mercy and relief.

Women should NOT be told they are too young for medication or surgery.

Women should NOT be taking their lives because there isn't any healthcare for them.

Women should NOT be told for years that the problem is in their head not physical.

Women should NOT be forced to wait years for a diagnosis only to be operated on by a doctor with a 'special interest' (rather than a surgeon with years of training and experience in endo.)

Women should NOT be forced to go abroad.

And you know what we really should not be doing.

Calling a condition that can affect the nerves, the spine, the chest, all organs, muscles and skin, eyes and everything else...
A PERIOD CONDITION?!?!?
Needs to stop imidiatelly.

Showing up today took everything in my tank.

I captured these moments, but when it came to stepping up to speak, I froze. Hearing story after story of systemic failure hit way too close to home - especially while being on medical leave and fighting my own battle for basic workplace accommodations right now. Empathy fatigue and burnout are so real.

Part of me feels like I should have pushed through and spoken anyway; but showing up, bearing witness, and documenting the crowd matters too. To everyone who spoke today: thank you for carrying the mic when some of us couldn't find the words. 💛

Thank you for the wonderful opportunity to participate in the HVP protest.

Thank you for the women's courage to share their stories—each one was incredibly moving, and at the same time, I felt a growing anger that women had to go through all this in a 21st-century European country.

I haven't found the courage to speak today, but I want to assure you that as a mother of a daughter with endometriosis, I know exactly what journey each of you has been through. Each of your stories is heartbreaking and awakens my deepest anger against those who have allowed women's health to be so neglected.

Minister for Health, are you finally going to do something about this, or will you continue to pretend the problem doesn't exist, or worse, that it's been solved? Listen to women's stories; they don't lie.
We left you flowers and letters, even though you blocked our path with barriers.

But we can't be stopped, and we won't stop until every woman receives real treatment from specialists, not "special intervention" doctors and thieves who extort money from women and blatantly lie to them, claiming they've cured them!

1 in 10 they say…
1 in 7 they say …
But where do these statistics come from if the wait for a diagnosis sometimes lasts decades?

But I can assure the Minister for Health that every woman who has experienced systemic neglect by the health service has family and friends, people who will fight even when the woman herself has no strength left.

And we will fight for every woman you treat in such a brutal and inhumane way.
You won't be able to sweep this under the rug anymore.

And no barriers will stop us!

And to all the "supporters" from Sinn Féin – where were you?
You had the opportunity to show up and send the message that you actually care, but do you really care?
Or maybe all you want is to promote yourself by using endometriosis as a campaign slogan?

This video is hard for me to share, to speak open and vulnerably about my endometriosis journey, but it’s about time I stop being ashamed of my journey but be empowered by it! All the amazing people today that welcomed, supported and listened to me today while I spoke my truth!

End the suffering, end the pain, endometriosis say its name!

Post four of the 'in honour of' endo series, ahead of the protest.

Since I've been diagnosed in December from a TVUS in @hera_imaging my life has been very different than I expected.
To get answers, compassion and empathy all at once was somewhat of a new experience. I wasn't judged for smiling when endometriosis was found, I was shown it and told that was the proof this wasn't in my head.
For anyone looking for answers I personally reccomend Hera because it's where I went.

Plenty of ladies also reccomend @ovascan.ie but as I haven't been I can't give a review.

@hervoiceproject is the place to go to look for rescources and community.
As well as @endometriosisireland on Facebook for sharing information with each other.

Five years ago I believed I was just somehow unlucky. Now I get to make bracelets for other women with endometriosis, go to endo events and protests.
Thanks to the lovely women who's accounts I mentioned I was also able to make the decision, that would be best for me, which is to start the process of having surgery abroad.
I'm still waiting.
And so I wanted to create this series ahead of the protest,
To raise awareness, especially for those who are only starting to look for answers.
There is a whole community out there 💛
