👀 Yesterday @wgnnews and @erincolleenmcelroy shared clips from our adventures and LLLDAM meetups at Brookfield Zoo, and we got a little teary watching.

🧡 They featured the Limb Difference Collective Foundation, because our co-founder, Ali Barnum, was named a WGN Remarkable Woman @remarkablewomennxst earlier this year, a recognition from @nexstarmediagroupinc Nexstar Media Group and WGN.

Over the last few months, LDCF was presented to the 100 Women Who Care Medinah chapter.

This week, we got to invite them into our world. 💛 We shared what goes inside a Hugs-in-a-Box, the stories behind why we created them, the events we've been honored to organize and why community matters so much to families navigating limb difference and limb loss.

Then came a moment we weren’t quite prepared for…

🥹 They chose LDCF for their quarterly giving, and with the help of matching donors, their collective support was truly extraordinary.

For a small nonprofit like ours, this kind of support means more opportunity to reach families, build connections, expand outreach, and continue creating programs that remind families:

If you’ve never heard of 100 Women Who Care, it’s a giving circle where women come together quarterly, each contributes $100, a few nonprofits are nominated, and the group votes together on where their collective donation will go.

🎤 MACK TAKES THE MIC: Mackenzie had the chance to stop and chat with Victoria from Koalaa Prosthetics @koalaacommunity at @campnolimits to learn all about the different tools and what they help people do.

From sports to everyday tasks, Victoria had a tool for everything and showed how easy it is to switch them out from the ALX Sleeve.

We love seeing her confidence grow every time she gets to explore how things work for kids like her! Mackenzie has used her Koalaa for the bike and yoga, and also has the Joanie for Tennis 🎾 and Gwen for swimming 🏊🏻‍♀️ with her kick board! She loves that she can change out the sleeve covers to match her clothes or her mood!

We were welcomed into the @glasa_sports Great Lakes Adaptive Sports Association GLASA Gala this spring and got to sit down with athletes, board members, and community members who make this organization what it is. A huge thank you to everyone who stopped by and shared their story with us, and to the GLASA crew and event team for making this happen!

Camp No Limits Illinois 2026 - It’s hard to put into words just how much of an impact camp has on all of us. These photos and the pure joy you see gives you a small glimpse. But imagine living every day feeling different from everyone else. Looking different, not being able to do things the same, getting more exhausted more sweaty and easily frustrated because things are just harder. And having to notice the constant stares and questions. Every day of the year. Except for 3 days where you’re surrounded by peers and parents and mentors that get it. That have similar differences similar struggles so you get to be unrelentlessly yourself and not have to worry about those looks or stares or judgement or questions. It’s overwhelming and powerful and beautiful and hard and amazing. Char definitely felt this way and had difficulty at times but watching her open up and how much she’s grown since last camp was awesome. She got to be brave and try new things. Power through some struggles. And bond with other LL/LD kiddos. And we got to strengthen our bond exchange tips and nods of understanding with their parents. These children and parents are some of the toughest most grateful most amazing you will ever meet. What happened to Charlotte and the difficulties she will face the rest of her life because of it is so unfair. But it has given us this community, has deepened my Faith, and I know it’s made her, and definitely us, stronger because of it and for that I am so grateful. Thank you SO much to our family and other community that helped us be able to get to camp. For the volunteers and mentors that give so much time care and energy to make camp as amazing as it is. And to Mary Leighton for starting CNL over 20 years ago (with just 4 campers the first year). So lucky and so grateful! #charlottestrong #quadamputee #quadsquad #nolimits #campnolimits
