Meet the #OrbiterBeanie!

The Orbiter Beanie is a classic ribbed beanie design with folded brim. This is the sister design to the Northern Attitude Beanie, with the same fit and shaping but with a fully ribbed body, so I went with another Noah Kahan inspired name for this one too! It is a simple, classic ribbed beanie that is perfect for fall and winter, and could be worn with or without a pom pom! It has crown shaping to fit the head, rather than the pointy/raised crown you see in some beanies. The hat is knit top down, in the round, with an Italian Tubular bind-off for a finished edge. This beanie pattern is offered in 3 different weight options (DK, Worsted and Bulky), and 8 different size options (Preemie up to Adult Large).

Note: The bulky version only has 6 sizes due to stitch counts requirements during the crown shaping.

The test call went live in my discord yesterday, but I'm still looking for testers for sizes 1-4 (preemie, newborn, baby, toddler) in most weights!

This design looks fantastic in a tonal or a variegated yarn! I used @pasleyknits Blueberry on Cash Sock held double for the tonal blue sample, @treehouseknits All the Stars Aligned on Dove DK for the blue variegated sample, @zeezeetextiles Rudbeckia on Classic Worsted for the purpley grey variegated sample, and @reddoorfs Misty Step on Calssic Bulky for the greeny grey variegated sample!

Happy WIP Wednesday! I haven’t gotten a chance to do one of these in a long while so it’s definitely time. I’ve got two knitting projects in progress rn and two spinning projects! I’ve fully jumped into my obsession with my EEW 6.1 and I’m having a blast with it. I had challenged myself to do at least 20 minutes a day on it through the month of October to try to learn what I’m doing and that has not been a difficulty in the slightest. In fact most days I’m going over that easily just because I’m having fun with it.

spoOoky season is in full effect! birthday month, all the scary spooky movies and all the spooky knitted socks this month is coming your way! I love love October! I am a Libra and it is my season! literally a boost and a pep in my step since October 1st! who else loves this time of year?!

finished this spooky pair and i absolutely love it! I used a multi sparkle tweed as base and a clean white for the ghosts! the amount of multicolored sparkles is unreal + the tweed! holy moly it’s like a little ghostie partyyyy!

sock deets :
so for sock 1, I used needle size 1 and did the increase at 72 for the sock and went down to 64 for the heel. The heel feels super tight! So for sock 2 I just ended up keeping the 72 throughout (excluding the cuff, 64 sts) including the heel and it feels so much better! I love this shadow wrap heel but I have found I have a higher instep so keeping it at 72 sts and size 1 needle works best for me! I have found lately I am a superrrr loose knitter! so I normally will work a smaller size for socks like 56/60 stitches but for colorwork I’ve found it’s just easier if I keep with the medium size numbers and just use a size 1 needle! no changing sizes for needles for me!

One of my favorite things about the Nia Tunisian crochet cardigan is the way the neckline fits.

I wanted a relaxed cardigan with a deep V-neck, without making the neckline so wide that it feels like it’s slipping off your shoulders.

The front panels gradually increase to create that gentle V shape, and the ribbed neckline and button band are added afterward to finish the fit.

That balance was especially important when I graded the Nia Cardigan to be size inclusive. The pattern includes 10 sizes, with finished bust measurements from 33” to 69”, and is designed for approximately 1–4” of positive ease.

The result is a lightweight, drapey Tunisian crochet cardigan that feels relaxed and a little oversized, but still looks polished buttoned or open.

The Nia Cardigan is officially here 🎉❤️

This lightweight Tunisian crochet cardigan pattern was designed to give you options.

Make Nia with fingering weight yarn alternating with a lace-weight fluff yarn like suri or mohair, or use two colors of fingering weight yarn instead.

Then choose your sleeve length.

You can make the long-sleeve or short-sleeve version with either yarn approach, so you can really customize the finished cardigan to suit your style and climate.

My samples use yarn from @treehouseknits (long sleeved version) and @pigment.and.ply (short sleeved version) with buttons from @tinkersholler .

Nia is designed as a cropped cardigan, but the pattern includes guidance for adding body length, adjusting sleeve length, and changing the sleeve fit for a closer or more relaxed look.
