An active and optimistic refusal to comply with a system that exploits nature.

Dream Team! 💪 Hack the Planet 💚 @treesistance

To be continued! 🚀

Right now, fires are spreading across the Brazilian Amazon. Indigenous Forest Guardians are on the front line, protecting their territories with courage, local knowledge and very few resources.

Our Emergency Fire Fighting Fund gets them what they need, when they need it: equipment, fuel, monitoring technology, and support for families when rapid response is required.

Prevention is everything. A fire stopped early saves forest that would otherwise be lost for generations, and it costs many times less than fighting a blaze that has already spread. Once a fire is out of control, money can only limit the damage. Before that point, it can prevent it.

That’s why supporting now makes the biggest difference.

100% of donations go directly to the ground.

We hit the target!! Well over 25,000 Euros donated from brilliant @_irglobal members at the annual conference in Lisbon, which means my promised match goes in full. All of it to support two million hectares of rainforest and the rights of the people who live there via @treesistance.

I spoke with Tom Wheeler last November and offered him a bet. One thousand for every year my firm has been going directly to support. He turned it into a fundraiser, and I am very glad he did.

I stood up at the opening drinks in Lisbon and asked the room to give. That is a lot to ask of people who had already paid to be at a conference but I knew this network was full of generous people who were determined to help where they could.

Thank you, every one of you. This is truly joyous and a testament to IRG. 🌱

'Resistance is intergenerational, and art is how its energy gets renewed’.

In the Brazilian Amazon, Indigenous peoples face political exclusion, lack of funding, land loss and the erosion of intergenerational knowledge. Treesistance is helping communities turn resistance into action. From improving access to justice to using film, storytelling and art, the organisation works alongside Indigenous communities to defend their rights, strengthen their voices and keep their knowledge alive.

Its work puts communities in control of their own stories. Through Tales of Resistance, Indigenous artist Vivi Borari records the stories of Majés and Pajés — plant healers and spiritual guides — creating space for knowledge to be shared across generations.

For Treesistance, the goal is not to extract stories from communities, but to build something they can own. Tom Wheeler, executive director, explains why art is central to Indigenous-led resistance — and how it can help renew its energy from one generation to the next.

👉 Read the full interview on CIVICUS Lens, discover the stories behind this resistance, and share them so Indigenous voices remain at the centre of the fight to protect the Amazon.

🌳 SCV Wajonong bij de Earth Race – Forest Edition 🌳
@treesistance
@earth_race_events

SCV Wajonong ❤️💚

Selected research material from the project archive - 2023

Collaboration with @gramamcollective , The development of @treesistance began with an inquiry into the relationships between forest, community, land and resistance.

The research moved across Amazonian forest ecologies, indigenous histories, community structures, environmental documentation and representations of resistance. Books, photographic archives, published journals, websites and documentary sources were gathered and studied as part of the process.

RELEASE ALERT !! Really happy to share with you, Premiere on @feinstoffberlin SoundCloud, my remix of “Alien Attack”, taken from @6teen.in upcoming EP “Astroport”, out September 25th on @sinchicollective , available on all platforms.

A project that’s a little different from my current vibe, it had been a while since I’d had this much fun playing around with EBM-inspired basslines, before taking things into a more luminous drop with some old-school trance vibes. ⛓️‍💥🌞

Anyway, I’ll let you discover it for yourself. Can’t wait to hear what you think!

All proceeds from this non-profit release will be donated to the Sinchi Foundation, supporting Indigenous guardians of the Brazilian Amazon rainforest through our @treesistance initiative. 🌱

Thanks @sinchicollective for the invit 👊👊

PROUD PARTNER

Some partnerships just feel right from the start.

That's why we're proud to welcome @greenchoicenl as Headline Partner of the Earth Race Forest Edition on 27 September in the Amsterdamse Bos.

Greenchoice has been supplying 100% green electricity from Dutch wind and solar parks for 25 years. As a customer, you also automatically contribute to the programme called "Natuur voor Morgen". This programme supports projects that protect nature, strengthen biodiversity and help tackle climate change both locally and globally. We have a special connection with two of these nature projects, as they are both our Impact Partners.

Through the TreeGreen Fund, set up together with @treesistance , Greenchoice has made €500,000 available for green electricity for indigenous communities in the Amazon region. In villages such as Arapyun, solar power has replaced the diesel generators that used to keep classrooms, a health post and the teachers' house running. Trained and installed by the residents themselves.

Greenchoice also supports our other Impact Partner, @adopteerregenwoud, which is used to purchase new land to form a green corridor between the Costa Rican rainforest and the neighbouring national park.

Thank you, @greenchoicenl, for your trust, and for showing that nature isn't just a source of energy, but an ally we can work with together.
