Ever wonder what those big green bushy trees are with the white bark that line almost every street in LA? They're Indian Laurel Figs aka Ficus. See them across the street too? They were the one of the urban plants of choice in the 80s because they were so hardy. But now that hardiness is causing problems. These are the culprits that are breaking up LA's sidewalks with their powerful roots. If you want to learn about more LA trees, follow @commontreesofla on Instagram.
