This oversized acrylic router base completely changed how stable this trim router feels!
We designed a much larger base for our Trend T1, machined it from acrylic on the CNC, added the engraved logos with the xTool P2S and installed double handles for better control.
The difference really shows up on smaller and awkward workpieces where a standard trim router base can be difficult to keep supported. This setup gives the router a much larger footprint and makes it much easier to keep everything flat and controlled.

Putting our custom acrylic Trend router base to work for the first time!

After cutting the base on the CNC and adding the engraved logos it was finally time to mount it to the router and see how it performed.

This piece I needed to route has several awkward areas where a standard trim router base would be very difficult to keep stable. The larger acrylic base and double handles made it much easier to control the router without worrying about it tipping as I worked around the piece.

This one turned out even better than I hoped and should be a really useful addition to the shop! Check out the tools used on our website!

Does a mitre lock actually work in Birch Ply...?

A little bit of blowout on the end grain, but nothing a quick clean up couldn't sort.

Turned out pretty bloody awesome in the end 👌😂
What do you think?

I have a constant need to improve things!!! Lol. Been thinking about the battery replacement that @valhallaironworks did for his @trendtoolsusa for a long time!

ATTENTION MODIFY AT YOUR OWN RISK LOL!!!!!

The whole 18 hr charge for the battery and then it dies during a short grind session ahhhhhhhhhh! I used a female usb-c adaptor with a pigtail some wire connectors to the metal tabs. Between that and the usb-c to usb-c from the portable battery pack is a 5v-5.1k adaptor that has 2 fuses that help with the power transfer because its sooo small it wouldn’t wake up the portable battery with out them. And I didnt want to solder and yadda yadda lol!

Im not an electrician but man this airflow is humming!!!! And this set up is pretty cool!

Thanks for following along! Have a great evening!

These adjustable roller stands from @trendtooltechnology are awesome! Before getting these we would cut some blocks of wood to the right height to hold the steel when using this portable bandsaw saw and now this is much better and can is use it for other kinds of saws or tools as well #trendtoolpartner

Two different router bits and two different ways to use the Trend Portable Benchtop Router Table. I started with the Amana Tool Double Roman Ogee bit, using the bearing to guide the workpiece without the fence. I then switched to the Multi-Rabbet bit, set the fence and made a straight rabbet cut.It was a simple way to show how the table can handle both bearing-guided edge profiles and fence-guided cuts while still offering many of the features you would expect from a full-size router table. All tools used are available from @toolstoday, check them out on our site!

“This one is a bit of a specialty tool that doesn’t get much credit until that job comes along where you need it, and then it just comes out and saves the day.”

Designed for cutting precise rectangular openings, the Varijig is self-squaring, easy to adjust and compatible with any router. From router table inserts and sink cut-outs to juice grooves and custom woodworking projects, it’s the jig that proves its worth when accuracy matters most.

Watch the review and see why it’s earned a place in so many workshops.
