30 years of QUETZAL❣️ WHAT A NIGHT!! This was a show NOT to be missed, first time I saw this band I KNEW they were very special. I’ll never forget that night at Cafe Fais Dodo off Adams Gabriel Iglesias was also in attendance and he did one of his first comedy routines there. I saw history being made that night. I also remember telling Roco from Maldita Vecindad that he had to check out this amazing band from East LA…eventually Quetzal opened for Maldita Vecindad at the House of Blues on Sunset Blvd. It is an honor to collaborate with Martha Gonzalez we’ve shared the Poetry stage, read from our written work, collaborated with her on a film soundtrack and we even wrote a song called Master Crafters, October 2021 in a collective songwriting group, Maria Castellon participated too ❤️🎶 Congratulations Martha, Quetzal, Tylana, Alberto, Juan, Evan, Sandino and Gabriel. You’ve enriched our lives with your beautiful music & thank you for your friendship 🙏🏼

Last October I had the opportunity alongside @contra_tiempo to share an evening of music and dance with our @quetzalmusic family at the @crla_art experience in Los Angeles. What an honor this was! Ayyyyy @marthartivista esa voz y sentimiento mujer! I still remember the feeling that was traveling within my body, the energy moving through the space and amongst all of us on this day! And I am so excited that TODAY we will be back together and celebrating 30 years of @quetzalmusic! Felicidades familia! So excited to reconnect with everyone that is a part of this evening. Friends, if you are in Los Angeles I hope you will join us TONIGHT at La Plaza de Cultura y Arte. Visit @laplazala for more details. It’s a FREE event and open to the public! Doors open at 6pm! #quetzalmusic #30years #celebration #dance #music #activism #storytelling #creativeresilience #sonjarocho #chicanorock #orisha #eastlosangeles #familia #spirit #love
