Think gym owners in small towns can’t charge $300 for a membership?

Two-Brain mentor Tres Kennedy is proving otherwise in rural Alabama.

In this episode of “Run a Profitable Gym,” Tres shares how he changed his pricing strategy, stopped giving away his on-ramp and learned to confidently handle common sales objections.

Plus, John Franklin and Tres role-play real sales conversations to show you how to respond when prospects say, “I need to think about it.”

Tres Kennedy nearly doubled his gym’s price, and his close rate barely changed.

He runs a gym in a small Alabama town where he thought people simply wouldn’t pay more.

At $150 a month, he was including three PT sessions and unlimited group classes, essentially giving away the coaching.

Then Tres looked at the data and realized his members needed more than access to classes. They needed coaching.

Today, new members start at $285 a month for three months with 12 PT sessions, two group classes per week and three goal reviews.

His close rate barely changed, but retention, attendance and PT clients all increased.

Could you charge more? Your last 10 consultations might give you the answer.

If only one or two prospects said no because of price, you might have room to increase. Tres was hearing it from just two or three out of 10.

But raising your price is only half the battle. You also need to know what to say when a prospect pushes back.

John Franklin and Tres role-play the most common objections gym owners hear.

Tres Kennedy thought $150 a month was about as much as people in his small Alabama town would pay for personal training and unlimited group classes.

He was wrong.

After changing the way he packaged and prescribed coaching, Tres nearly doubled his price. The shift didn’t just affect revenue. It changed his close rate, staff pay and retention.

In this episode of “Run a Profitable Gym,” John Franklin sits down with Tres to break down exactly what changed and how other gym owners can apply the same lessons.

Then they put it into practice.

John and Tres role-play a real sales consultation and work through three objections every gym owner has heard:

“I need to think about it.”

“That’s more than I expected.”

“I need to talk to my spouse.”

Learn how to price your coaching with confidence, handle objections without getting pushy and keep the sale moving when a prospect hesitates.
