No matter where you’re reading this from, I think we all carry the same quiet habit: we postpone our joy.

We tell ourselves we’ll be happy when the season changes, when the work is finished, when the people we love are all doing okay, when life finally feels settled. But life rarely feels settled. And while we wait for the perfect moment, the beautiful ones keep passing by unnoticed.

Grace doesn’t wait for us to arrive somewhere. It meets us right where we are.

It’s the same in a small apartment as on a mountaintop. In a busy city or a quiet town. In a season of plenty or a season of struggle. The gifts look different for each of us, but they’re there. A meal shared with family. Laughter with a friend. A morning that begins in peace. A prayer whispered when words feel hard to find.

“This is the day the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.” (Psalm 118:24)

Not the day we finally have it all together. This one.

The goal isn’t to have a good life someday. It’s to notice the good life today.
