I heard or read somewhere recently that having creative side quests actually improves your mental health because you have something to look forward to after work. While work can cause spikes in your cortisol and stress levels, your creative side quest can help regulate it.

I can attest to this today. I have been working way more calmly on work stuff because I’m so freaking excited to edit these photos tonight.

I had to reward myself and edit a few of the photos of myself that @latoyadixonsmith took of me first. Ugh the pure joy and play.

Full recap and photos of my Spooky muses coming very soon 👀

Thank you to all the beautiful creatives that came out to the Spooky Season Creative Meetup on Saturday and thank you @bjg_visual_images for co-hosting with me 📸✨🖤

Alisha Chelsea Jones is a jazz, soul, and R&B vocalist performing under the name TRICKYVIBES — sultry, atmospheric, and entirely live, with the kind of presence built for slow evenings and low light. She is the literary award-winning author of The Awakening Trilogy, a three-book series honored with the Golden Plume Seal Award for Literary Excellence in 2020, and the creator and host of TRICKYVIBES: The Lore, a podcast styled as a poetic audio diary — spoken word, storytelling, and curated music layered into something you feel more than listen to.

That same artistry carries into every live performance: smoky, unhurried sets made for a room that already knows how to savor.

The Mirror Moment at @thecenterworkshop 🪞💛

There is something that happens when a woman is asked to truly see herself, and these women leaned all the way in.

Capturing the beauty and essence of women is my favorite thing to do with a camera. Inside and out. The softness. The strength. The parts they don’t always let the world see.

This was a special group. I felt it the whole time I was in that room.

We treat wholeness like a finish line — like healing is a checklist and one day, if you journal enough or therapy enough or heal enough, you’ll finally arrive at “whole.” But wholeness was never a destination. It’s not waiting for you on the other side of anything.

You are whole right now. Mid-mess. Unfinished. Still figuring it out.

Wholeness isn’t what’s left after you fix yourself. It’s what was already there, underneath everything the world convinced you was broken.

Today’s the day — come remember it with us.

For a long time I thought using my voice was selfish. Taking up space, saying what I actually meant, growing out loud instead of quietly — it felt like too much. Like I was supposed to shrink to keep the room comfortable.

Expression isn’t selfish. It’s self-preservation.

Every time you swallow what’s true to keep the peace, you’re paying for it somewhere — your body, your sleep, your joy. The version of you that speaks, creates, and grows in front of people isn’t “too much.” She’s just finally at full volume.

You are allowed to grow, change, and evolve as much as you want.

If you’ve been quiet for a long time, CENTER is where you get loud again — safely, in a room built to hold it.
