WPO #4 is done...

After a pretty rough training cycle leading into the meet, not bombing out was a win in itself.

It was a decent day overall. I ended up squatting 931lbs which is the most I've done in contest since my knee surgery. I benched 584lbs easily after missing it on my first two attempts. Thankfully Mike @windhamcounty_strength made some adjustments to my shirt before that last attempt and saved me from bombing. Took conservative jumps on deadlift pulled 661 pretty easily on my second attempt secured a 2177 total which was a wpo pr for me. Attempted 694 on my 3rd which would have given me a total pr for the first time since my knee surgery and decided to take a little nap instead of locking it out.

The @worldpowerorg put on a great meet as always. I hope to be able to earn my way back in the coming years.

Thank you to the @anchorathleticsnh crew and everyone that was there to help and support me and the rest of the team on meet day. @moustachiox handled me again at this meet and has been a huge part of my success on meet days.

Thank you to @anthonycw13 for all the help getting me ready to compete and keeping me in check when things aren't going well haha

And as always thank you to my wife @mandaaasue for helping me on all my training and meet days doing anything you can to make me successful.

11th consecutive WPO appearance. 859/644/644 2149ish with the kilo change.

Squats didn’t go well, knocked my opener way down and ended up benching my first PR in 5 years, and then pulled 5 pounds more on my deadlift than I did pre-surgery.

Everyone wants to say they’ll do anything to keep going, this was my opportunity to prove that I mean it when I say it. I literally cannot conjure up the words to express the gratefulness for the support I received at the meet and during this process in general (there will be a post dedicated to that specifically), so for now, thank you. All of you.

@worldpowerorg put on a great meet as usual. A TON goes into putting this on and a lot goes unnoticed by most people. Thank you WPO for providing us a platform to do what we love at the highest level.

My crew. My gym. My family. I have put you through hell dealing with me during this. Thank you. I love you all.

@valr_oliveira … you are my beacon of light in my darkest times. I love you more every single day.

Back to the lab. To quote a good friend “this wasn’t a comeback, you never fucking left”. And I’m not planning on going anywhere any time soon.

Light day in tha lab today, I just did some stiff leg dumbbell deadlifts, band hamstring curls, reverse hypers, standing abs, and face pulls. I needed to give my hips a break after maxing out my squat on Wednesday. Finally got my chalkboard put up so I can keep track of my meet records! My home gym is coming together! #conjugatemethod #isymfs #triggerwarningconjugate #westsidebarbell #homegym
