life update: i’ve officially graduated with my master’s in healthcare administration! 👩🏽‍🎓

this degree has meant so much more than just three new letters next to my name. it’s been a journey that’s challenged my growth, strengthened my purpose, and tested my resilience, all the while teaching me to simply trust the process, one day at a time. i couldn’t have done it without the incredible people in my life who believed in me even when i sometimes couldn’t. and i am beyond grateful for all my family, friends, and mentors for their unwavering support throughout my grad school and fellowship journey. love you all to bits! 🎓🫶🏽

HCAD Executive Program Launches the New School Year!

On Friday, August 23rd, as new undergraduate students were moving in, the Health Care Administration Department welcomed its Executive program students back to campus to kick off the new school year. This included the rising second-year students in the Executive program as well as a new cohort of first-year graduate students, all of whom are healthcare professionals working full-time in diverse roles, ranging from surgical care to human resources to health information technology. From Friday through Sunday of that weekend, the Executive students participated in our three-day on-campus session that initiates the semester courses and provides opportunities to connect, learn together, and socialize as members of the "HCAD Family." One of the highlights was having our second-year Executive students pitch their "Tiger Tank" concepts - which they developed as a final project in the summer semester - to the new first-year cohort. Not only did this give the second-years a chance to share the innovative solutions that they developed to very challenging (and very real) healthcare problems, but it also introduced first-year Executive students to their second-year peers and gave them a glimpse into what they can expect in the coming year. We're proud of our Executive students and, as we often like to share, we learn so much from them and their current practical experiences that further fuels and feeds the relevant curriculum and learning experiences we pride ourselves on in the Health Care Administration Department.
