We are proud to recognize excellence in healthcare leadership by honoring Kevin Ormand M’98 with the 2026 Duce Award and Amanda Thrash M’09 with the 2026 Momentum Award.

The Duce Award honors a graduate of the HCAD program who has shown outstanding leadership and made significant contributions to the field of health services administration. The award is presented annually and is named after Dean Leonard A. Duce, a former dean of the graduate school at Trinity and one of the program’s founding faculty members.

The Momentum Award recognizes career professionals age 40 and younger for outstanding achievements in the field of healthcare management.

The annual dinner and awards ceremony honoring the awardees will take place from 6 to 9 p.m. on October 16 in the Korbell Great Hall inside the Chapman Center. Over the past two months, our students worked hard to identify problems, build solutions, and apply design thinking. We are so proud of all of our teams for their creativity, collaboration, and hard work!
A special thank you to our judges for sharing their time, insight, and feedback.

Congratulations to our winning teams:

This week we had the opportunity to spend time in Houston learning from healthcare leaders across Memorial Hermann, Kelsey-Seybold Clinic, and HCA Houston Healthcare / Gulf Coast. This trip gave our class such a valuable look into strategy, operations, and leadership in action, and we are leaving with so much to reflect on. by @trinityhcad

Today, our students got the opportunity to visit San Antonio City Hall and hear from local leaders about the policies, partnerships, and community efforts shaping public health in San Antonio. The visit highlighted how health outcomes are influenced not only by clinical care, but also by factors like transportation, education, safety, and community support. Thank you to everyone who took the time to share their insights with our students. by @trinityhcad
