POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED
All done with my Tour De Fleece. I joined my own team and just winged it. I must say, this was a nice reminiscing of my work. I also made a dent in my never-ending stash which is quite nice.

It was lovely to see everyone's spinning adventure during the tour.

I tagged everyone who created these wonderful fluffy goodness. The big skeins were from Freeda at Koomasee. No more social media or shop though.

The fumes from spinning is still up so I spin more things 🙃

Low Mileage Wool.
Creating a shawl from yarn sourced from a single flock of sheep is a journey that intertwines artistry with meaningful relationships. Each strand of yarn tells a story, rooted in the dedication and care of shepherds I've come to know over time. These artisans raise their sheep with a deep commitment to ethical and sustainable practices, prioritizing the well-being of both the animals and the land.

Through my interactions with these shepherds, I’ve witnessed firsthand their passion and respect for their craft. Their thoughtful approach to farming not only ensures high-quality fibres but also fosters a sense of community and shared purpose. It’s in these relationships that the true beauty of the yarn emerges—each skein holds the essence of the flock, the land, and the shepherd’s vision.

When I knit with this yarn, I’m not just creating a piece of fabric; I’m weaving together the stories and values of those who raised the sheep. The unique textures and colors reflect the environment in which the sheep thrive, making each shawl not just a garment, but a celebration of sustainable practices and human connection. This is what makes my work special—it's a tribute to the intertwining of craft, ethics, and the bonds we forge along the way.

When I first started getting custom yarn made from @crocuscountryshepherdess flock, the batches were much smaller and I didn't want to dye it.
Now that the batches are coming to me in much larger batches I can pull some aside from each batch to dye. This way we can see the natural shade next to a colourway. So....isn't this just awesome!!!?
I will have this selection of hand dyed Low Mileage Wool at Knit City Toronto. Cue the screams!!!

I had some LMW that just needed a pick me up after no one wanted them. So I dyed them in my colourways, Aubergine, Myrtle and Teal Green.
Cue the drool!
Now, I can't promise to dye LMW every batch, but I'm definitely down for DTO's. Let's chat in the comments.

P.s. if you head to my shop right know, you can buy these beauties right now. PLEASE read the listing details.

Ok bye!
