Peace under an illusion is not true peace. It's only meaningful if the real world manages to accomplish it. ♍️☪️

My first year of hooping has involved a lot of isolation — both the trick and, sometimes, the experience.

Someone I met at Philly Flow Fest, @sarruhtonin , made that pun, and it really resonated with me.

I loved getting to work on my hoop skills, dabble in other flow arts, and learn from so many talented people.I kept finding myself breaking away from the workshops just to talk to people. To connect. To hear what flow means to them.

Because as much as flow can be a deeply personal practice, I don’t want mine to exist only in isolation.

My favorite part of this event wasn’t learning a new trick. It was being reminded that there are other people who understand just how meaningful moving, playing, creating, and flowing can be.

Grateful for the skills. Even more grateful for the connection. Super grateful to @flowfestphilly for such an amazing event. 🌀💕
