How do you recap a weekend that somehow held this much FUN… and also this much HEART? 🥹😂

Bestie Weekend Ever™ actually happened.

We made things.
We laughed LOUD.
We played.
We got weird.
We had real conversations.
We faced ourselves.
We remembered parts of us that maybe hadn’t gotten enough airtime lately.

And somewhere in the middle of all of it, a room full of women became Fun Finders together.

I knew what I hoped this weekend could be.

But watching it come alive in actual people, actual friendships, actual belly laughs, actual brave moments?

Yeah. That part got me.

This little reel is only a tiny peek at what happened.

To every woman who showed up, brought her whole self, and said YES to the weekend:

You made this what it was.

And I already miss it. 🥹

Bestie Weekend Ever™ 2026.
What a ridiculous, beautiful, joy-filled beginning. 💛

What began with one little girl saying yes, has grown into something much bigger.❤️

At just six years old, Halle Porter organized a donation of Barbie dolls for girls in foster care. Her simple act of compassion became Halle’s Heroes…an ongoing effort to meet practical needs for children and families.

Recently, Halle’s heroes helped a family welcome a new foster placement by providing a swing set, clothes, shoes, toy boxes, and other essentials.

Halle story reminds us that you don’t have to do everything, you just have to be willing to do something. When one person says yes, it inspires other to give, serve, and show up for children who need to know they are cared for.

What could happen if you said yes?

There are many reasons children enter foster care, but neglect is the number one reason.

That's why the Church can't stand on the sidelines.

We need to pray for vulnerable children, but also pray for their biological families as they navigate incredibly difficult circumstances. And beyond praying, let's be the hands and feet of Jesus by supporting families, strengthening communities, and helping children find the safety and love they deserve.

Together, we can help more children find healing homes.

We couldn't let the week pass without celebrating an incredible group of leaders.

Last week, these leaders invested their time, hearts, and gifts to become Backyard Orphans Trainers. They've been equipped to help churches engage, equip, and empower believers to care for vulnerable children in their own communities.

We couldn't be more proud of each one of them.

This isn't the end of their journey. It's just the beginning. As they return home, they'll equip church leaders, strengthen local churches, and help more children find healing homes.

We're excited to see how God will use each of these trainers to make an eternal impact. Please join us in praying for them as they step into this calling. We truly believe their faithfulness will help change the lives of countless children and families for years to come.

Words fall short of describing how proud we are of @kelseynacole19! This is just one aspect of how strong she has become, but it reflects who she is. She is a force for Jesus! #Porterteam #taekwondo

27 years ago today, I married my best friend @trishakporter

We met in college, and what a journey it’s been. From a teacher and a youth pastor to six incredible kids, our sweet granddaughter Josie, countless date nights, annual vacations, and a lifetime of memories…I wouldn’t trade a minute of it.

Trisha, you’re still my sunshine. ☀️ I love your laugh, your piano playing, your heart for God, and the way you love our family. You’re a true Proverbs 31 woman!

Happy 27th Anniversary! I’d choose you all over again. I love you! ❤️
