Some photos from my New Year's trip to Moe's..
I've been seeing photos from this really cool climbing photographer for a little while now and have drawn inspiration by his style. Not sure if there's a name to it but it's basically a slow shutter rear-sync flash shot (with camera spin) where the movements of your subject become more intensified and gives off a very high-action feel to the image. I messed around with different shutter speeds and found that 1/30-1/10 seemed to be the sweet spot for me to be able to better control the rotation of the camera as well as center point of the spin relative to the frame. I don't think I'd shoot in this style much, but I did enjoy trying this out and experimenting with new shooting techniques.

I'd highly recommend checking out his page though, a lot of the photos are incredible: @oldmanmoon

“If you don’t send this, I’m going to hear all about it on the way home”

No tactics, condies, or psyche can outperform the impact of good friends on a send. And ofc, we learn that the real sends are the friends we make along the way.

Madrock Athlete @tristin.outside talked to us about this in our last ep.

🎧 Tune in our convo with Tristin on your next drive to the crag.

Summer peaked on this trip with the team 🙂‍↕️

Up at 10,000’ trying hard, taking naps, and doing it all over again.

What I would give to be back here and not in this damn heatwave in Los Angeles 🫠

Trip Report 02. Tramway.

There’s no better Saturday than at 10,000ft elevation trying hard projects under a hot sun with a good crew. Right? We live for type 2 fun anyway.

Summer road trip in the books. Film coming out later. Keep an eye out.

Work trip to Palm Springs

Had a dope time checking out Tramway on a short 2-day @madrockclimbing trip! The main goal of the trip was to sus “Somewhere in Time Low”.

I remember first seeing video of the stand years ago and thinking to myself “someone’s gotta do a low start”, it’s always seemed so obvious. Funny to be trying it now! I made quick work of the stand and managed to do all the moves of the low. Some good links were made as well, but I’ll definitely need to spend more time on it!

Maybe I’ll make a return trip sometime in August! I’m quite psyched to try it again, just need timing to work out.

Pictured are some of the adventures as well as what I believe is the crux sequence. Hopefully the “new” (to me) foot sequence I was doing helps someone!

Also, I heard a few locals are getting close… Sending love from NY, but also psyched to battle it out 😤.

Granite, Grit, and a Ticking Clock.

The only shot at a $16,000 purse is to out-climb, outlast, and out-bleed the rest. Rock Rumble Royale isn’t just about style - it’s survival.

A special thank you to @cliffhangerguides for hosting the inaugural Rock Rumble Royale!
