2026 Ötillö World Championships, 20th Anniversary✅

A headwind from start to finish set the pace for an extremely challenging and hard day across the Swedish Archipelago. The terrain delivered as we remembered but with a punishing twist. Overall @jacobgilden and I are extremely happy with how things played out and how this new season of life has brought us new training challenges and demands, yet we have risen to find a new level of strength, confidence, and love. At one point we sang one of Emma’s favorite songs and reminisced on how we hope Emma would be proud of her mom and dad. We finished with a course PR of 10:31 and 16th mixed team on a highly competitive day.

It was so good to be back with the SwimRun Community and see so many of my athletes turn their hard work into success. Happy to be apart of this crazy sport and share adventures with so many.

What a special day on Utö with the Envol community.

We spent the morning swimming and running across the final five islands of the ÖTILLÖ World Championship course, sharing a little course knowledge, testing gear and transitions, and soaking in one of the most beautiful stretches of swimrun anywhere.

Afterward, we slowed things down with lunch, sauna, hot tub time, plenty of laughs, and a chance to simply enjoy being together.

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us and brought such wonderful energy to the day. The course may have brought us to Utö, but the people made it memorable.

2x Olympian Tyler Butterfield raced ÖTILLÖ COLORADO as the Charity Chaser.

Starting out 15 minutes after the rest of the field, he passed 66 athletes over a challenging course that included 18.5 miles of running mountainous trails and 4.5 miles of swimming between coves in Horsetooth Reservoir.

For each athlete he passed ÖTILLÖ pledged a $10 donation to charity partner REACH GREEN. In total, Tyler’s strong and speedy racing in his first-ever swimrun contributed to a $660 donation!

Good times training up in Granby @ 8k+ feet this past weekend! ⛰️

2 hr ride up to a summit, a super hilly burning hot run, and the main event: the Willow Creek Reservoir open water swim.

🏊‍♀️ 2nd female to @hannah_sak / 3rd overall in the wetsuit division // 2 miles in 44:47*
... and our whole group killed it!

* Times in triathlon (most certainly includes open water swimming) are very relative based on a lot of factors 👌

3 out of our 4 professional athletes have competed in the @ironmantri VR events. Today @elliot_bach_tri placed 2nd. @trizawaski also was second a few weeks ago and @mmcwilliams1 grabbed a win. Our final pro @clayemge will compete next weekend! Although virtual racing isn’t really ideal it has been nice for these guys to make some cash and see their hard work pay off.

From the coaching side of things it has been tough keeping everyone motivated with no races on the schedule. We have had zero athletes leave during the pandemic. We are extremely proud of our athletes for their commitment to the PROCESS and finding joy and satisfaction from simply showing up everyday. Although the race scene doesn’t look promising for 2020, we guarantee that anyone who made the most of 2020 will shine in 2021. ⭐️💫⭐️

Those two look familiar don't you agree @kevincollington ? That year we were "quarantined" in the pro room waiting out the storms. During that time of stress and unknown future, the athletes and directors invented the unique pro format for @challengedaytona. Well it was mostly @tri_starky 's idea but everyone ran with it. That same afternoon we executed one of the most amazing races I have ever done entirely in the @disupdates stadium. What great new things will come about from our current situation? #triathlon #cycling #racing #challengefamily
