ÖtillÖ Worlds. @justindaerr and I were in a good position but withdrew on Nämdö to mitigate preexisting injury. Love this course, there is nothing close to the difficulty which makes it so much fun. The SwimRun community has so many friends old and new with amazing with advocates like @envolswimrun @thelowtideboyz @wildswimrun bringing people together. Sweden is one of my favorite places, it had been too long since my last Fika and salty licorice. by @trizawaski

ÖtillÖ Casco Bay 2nd Men's Team with @justindaerr. Lost to a world champion from Sweden so can't complain. Only a few slight mishaps having not raced since last year but no consequential problems. There was a lot of kelp to get tangled in and slippery swim entrances and exits. This course has almost as much swimming as Worlds, so we just need to run 35km more. Portland has a fun downtown and we patronized the Nordic candy store for some Swedish snaks.

ÖtillÖ Colorado 1st Place. @justindaerr and I had been working some months on this to put together a solid as he says. Finally broke tape at a sanctioned endurance event. I struggled in the swim and leaned on Justin to lead a lot but felt great running despite a clumsy fall. The cooler weather and water temps proved challenging getting some mild stage hypothermia. Always more work ahead to do better. @brookedaerr was all over the course, pro spectator. by @trizawaski

Santa Cruz 70.3 Last Pro Race. I can't say I tried at all being so emotionally tired. I just let people go ahead from the start and rode alone far behind. Locked into the run a bit but nothing spectacular. It's been a long sad year but I was most grateful to have so many friends there and my most important person. Santa Cruz is also a great venue. Took a while to even post anything.
Looking forward to ÖtillÖ Colorado with @justindaerr by @trizawaski

Racked. Santa Cruz 70.3. Haven't raced in a year from multiple health issues including torn meniscus and damaged MCL in addition to a year long tortuous inner ear issue. This may be my last professional race. by @trizawaski

Michigan 70.3 21st. This one was very hard since I could never seem to recover fitness since being sick and this ongoing inner ear damage for months. I had been sleeping 11hr nights for weeks before the race constantly tired. The race itself was unusually painful. I eventually died on the bike and, while I ran a lot of people down, it was a relatively slow run. I've been barely able to walk all week because this was an overexertion for my fitness level. A knee injury was flaring up the week before but I was able to run through it so I can rest it now. Feeling extremely sad but hopefully I can get this ear/neck thing figured out and come back strong next year. by @trizawaski

Boulder 70.3 - I was pushing my luck with this one but it's hard not to go when it's right outside your door. I had some intense sickness right before Chattanooga but I managed to sort of do okay off adrenaline but now the fatigue has set in. The sickness is now an extremely bad ear issue that sounds trivial but it's all consuming and impossible to ignore the irritation/pain. This is super high on the scary scale with a lot of ENT doctor visits and no clear answers. This is the worst thing I've had so far even over other serious injuries.

I was never much above LT1/FatMax/IM-Pace on the bike and ended the last 30min completely aerobic. I shuffled through the run even slower than aerobic pace because I have a thing of always finishing unless it's going to hurt something.

At least I got some good photos. All for the gram! by @trizawaski

Chattanooga 70.3 @ironmantri Pro Series. My fourth time racing in this great town. While the swim has some down current, the bike and run are legitimate with rolling hills. I've been dealing with a lot of serious allergies, sinusitis, and ear problems only to get really sick again the week before but I pulled it together to show up. The pro race was well put on with 65 men deep. My first experience with Race Ranger and it was actually pretty handy to help judge spacing. by @trizawaski

Coaching at #texas703 and brought my @blueseventy Helix for a fun ocean swim. The actual race will be calm in the bay but the rolling shore reminds me of swimming #otillo in the Swedish Archipelago.

Indian Well 70.3 second year in a row I got sick for my December race and get completely wrecked. I biked okay for a while but everything else was terrible. I keep two pairs of shoes in T2 and chose my training shoes so I can crawl to the finish and not wear out my Alphaflys. I've been training through a knee injury too which has been difficult so am going to rest it now. Managed to get some good photos but am really sad and it took me a while to motivate to post an update. #indianwells703 #triathlon #ironman #cycling by @trizawaski
