Hi InstaShmupJunkies,
Another day, another portion of SNES awesomeness for #SNEStember with @ezee_pz

And this game is how he and I crossed paths on the sea of Instagram, the love of one game in common, so this post is dedicated to my good friend and the creator of #16bitordie …

AXELAY

When I saw this game in the SNES it was like “WOW, the arcades just landed in my home”! A seriously cool Shmup from all aspects that ticks all the boxes, killer tunes, challenging, gorgeous visuals, insanely cool bosses, and intense action. Quite simply a SNES essential no collector should be without.

And a game I did complete on normal credits on PAL in the era, easily a 9/10 for me. These days I’m a 3rd stage wonder 😱😝🤣.

I had to go Japanese for this one as the #RetroBoxArt ( @toysgonewild_uk ) is to die for… sublime 🤩💪🦎💯

Have an awesome #MidweekGamingFaves Wednesday with another good friend @unlimitedretrogaming

Big shout out to @redthegameshark for this copy of Sexy Parodius for the Japanese SEGA SATURN. It’s a fantastic entry in the Parodius series which is a parody of the Gradius series. I’ve only played it a bit before and I’ve wanted it ever since. Glad to add this to the collection. I already have Gokujou Parodius on the Super Famicom, and I think there’s one more or two more for the Saturn. So I’ll be on the look out for those too.

@ezee_pz recently posted up about his order from @tcgpaper and it was quick to get my attention as I have a good chunk of loose carts that have been in need of homes. These repros are a nice quality product and with the recent 50% off sale… I had to take advantage and snag some favorites that were in need. Phalanx box art will forever be one of the best!!!

My friend managed to get me this Comic Con Exclusive Meowth Balloon Plush! It was limited to 1000 which is unfortunate, it should be available to everyone. And yes I did open it up, hopefully that’ll make a reseller tear up a bit.

New Amiibo! These are from the newly released Splattoon Raiders game and the look great. The entire Splatoon line of amiibo have been great, they haven’t missed yet. You can connect these to show off a group pose and it’s a nice detail that they added for this release. I hope they do the with more Amiibo releases. This past year of Amiibo releases has been wild but expensive 😅, worth it tho.

Here it is, the most expensive, overpriced amiibo, I’ve ever bought at MSRP. There’s no reason an amiibo should be this expensive. But they got me. This amiibo, like the other Kirby Air Riders amiibo, are big. They are also able to swap carts with the other in the line. You can also change this one’s wheel to “hover” wheels which is pretty neat.
