This year has been an incredible journey surrounded by strong, supportive people. I’m so grateful for the friendships and unwavering support from those who put up with me day in and day out. It’s been a year of growth and strength, starting with my first Arnold Amateur Open, where I didn’t zero, moving on to my 2nd Strongman Masters 50+ National 1st place finish, and my 8th Strongest Master finish my 3rd Official Strongman Games. Along the way, I had the privilege of watching some amazing athletes crush personal bests, push their limits, and achieve incredible things.

2024 truly turned out to be a year to remember. A huge thank you to my coach, @greg.schiltz.rd, for programming the heck out of my log work and speed drills. My delts and split times are grateful! To my team @crossfitlocal, I’m a better coach and athlete because of you. Thank you for believing in me. And to my gym bros, your constant push to be better means the world to me.

CrossFit Local Athlete Spotlight: Trudy L

Occupation?
Retired Corporate Consulting & Sales VP

Where are you originally from?
Morgantown, West By God Virginia

When did you first start training at Local?

Favorite WOD and lifts?
I'm a card-carrying BBC member. Favorite lift of the moment is Kristin's Banded KB Bench Press

What is one thing you love about Local?
I love showing up and seeing supportive friends and coaches

Please share with us any favorite CrossFit/Local moments.
Hitting my deadlift PR last Fall was my favorite moment. I think I cried. Kristin pulled me away and hyped me up while she secretly had Alyssa add more weight. I thought I was lifting 220#, but it was 230#. I picked it up and it felt awesome. I also really enjoy custom WODs with my husband Steve on the weekends.

Any advice for people just getting started?
Just DO IT. Just show up. Celebrate any progress. PRs aren't the only thing to celebrate!

What is something many people don't know about you (hobby, little known fact)?
In some ways, I'm an old-lady-in-training (OLIT). I like to crochet and needlepoint, but I also like to push my strength (to fend off old-lady frailty!) and travel the world, so maybe I'm an adventurous OLIT? I also am getting a color-consulting certification, so if you need help with paint colors for your home, hit me up.

2022 was the year of the turned beds! We put a lot of miles on our faithful lathes. Countless hours of sanding thousands of hand turned rings! 💪🏼 Here’s a reel with pretty much all never before posted picture of projects around my shop in 2022. 🇺🇸
I’ve been under the weather for the last few days which is not how I intended on ringing in the new year, but I am recovering swiftly so I am grateful. Which in turn is a good way to start the year! #HNY Here’s to 2023! #ReidClassics #grateful

P.S. If you’re tagged in this reel, your bed is in it. I tried to tag as many as I could. See if you can spot yours!

It’s one of those days when Endurance Class has you not knowing whether you are coming or going.
